‘He Gets Us’ Super Bowl ad.

let’s just enjoy the fact that it’s not an advertisement for transgender acceptance or abortion acceptance, or some junk telling us how evil all white people are.
"At least they're not promoting transgenderism or abortion" isn't a particularly high bar for a Christian ministry.

Is there any mention of personal sin in any of these commercials? Is there ever discussion with the prospective Jesus-seeker as to why poor pitiful picked-on humanitarian sympathetic homie Jesus came to earth? Are you ok with an incomplete gospel presentation? Would you be okay with a gospel message that merely condemned sinners to hell with no resurrection or substitution? Do you think that form of the gospel (per Scriptural revelation) is the kind that saves souls?
That’s an awful lot of questions to answer, and I’m afraid I don’t have that much time, but in a nutshell, I’m okay with the simplicity of the commercial because it’s…ya know, a commercial, not a Tuesday night revival sermon.

If AOC is against it, there must be something redeeming about it.

But this brings up my other thought: Everyone is saying, "Jesus would do or say so and so..." my reply to all this is, "Oh!? and who is this Jesus that haveing Him in support of your point of view means anything?"

The advertisement was the TV version of the WWJD bracelet fad from fifteen years ago. It’s simple, but gets positive attention and gets conversations going in the right direction. Then, maybe, down the road it leads to deeper fruit. Unfortunately, I think so many Christians live in a bubble that they can’t see beyond their noses.

So, it’s just a commercial, nothing more? That’s an interesting worldview you hold.

Some of you guys really crack me up. We have a prime time Christian-themed Super Bowl commercial being shown worldwide, and all some Christians can do is begin to nitpick and look for theological inconsistencies or find fault with their denominational affiliations. Give me a break, unless Bob Jones U or Hyles Anderson can come up with the funding for their own ads, let’s just enjoy the fact that it’s not an advertisement for transgender acceptance or abortion acceptance, or some junk telling us how evil all white people are. 😒
That's how the devil enters into our platforms...A LITTLE leaven leavens the whole lump. How much leaven are you "holding", Huk? ;)

It’s a Christian-themed commercial. It’s not an evangelist meeting. There’s no altar to walk to, no preacher to speak with. I’m just glad it’s a commercial with a positive message.

I’m actually not very familiar with this expression, although I do like biscuits (in a very limited fashion these days, unfortunately).

From the "He Gets Us - Be Childlike" ad: "Jesus didn't want us to act like adults. Be childlike."

After watching the ad, I fail to get the point. Maybe future ads will be more specific about the way that Jesus wants us to act. But for now, I'm stumped. I need more than just a syrupy 30-second sound bite to explain to me how Jesus wants me to act.

"Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit, in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men." - 1 Corinthians 14:20

I found "The Rebel" ad to be intimidating - tattooed, hoodie-wearing thugs rampaging through the inner city on skateboards or recklessly driving. If this is what Christians are like, I prefer that they stay out of my neighborhood. o_O To compare Jesus and His disciples with modern-day urban hoodlums seems somewhat irreverent to me, but hey, that's just me. I guess I'm just one of those Christians who live in a bubble and can't see beyond my nose.

Though I would quibble with a couple of her takes, because that’s what I do, lol, I would say overall she knocked it out of the park. I really liked this quote…

The ‘He Gets Us’ ads depicts Jesus, at times, in ways that’s just not true. It’s not Biblically accurate. And in so doing they offer a Jesus that isn’t real. And a Jesus that is not real cannot save.

If Allie was an Alistair I’d shout AMEN!😁

The goal of the "He Gets Us" campaign is to make Jesus to be "one of us" that he is sympathetic with all the social injustice and inequality in the world. In other words, he "Gets" the LGBTQIA+ crowd but he is not calling them to repentance and is perhaps even marching right along with them in their "Pride" parades. Same goes for the BLM, Critical Theory, and radical environmentalist groups!

Instead of conforming us to the image of Christ, they are conforming Christ to the image and fashion of this world!

It is very much blasphemous and Satanic!

Jesus IS relevant. He does not need fallible humans to reinterpret Him or make Him more palatable to a depraved society. (Society has been depraved since the Fall.) The FIRST thing people need to recognize is their need for a SAVIOR which is often a very unpalatable truth.
