Hey, JesusFan...

He seems to be taking a very Apostolic standard as to his theology, for if you disagree with him on any major issue, he will jsut state that you are wrong, misunderstanding the bible, relying others other sources and traditions, and that he has the valid bible viewpoint

Personal theological disagreement shouldn't be a basis for taking moderator action. Not that there are legal ramifications on an Internet forum, but that smacks of conflict of interest.

Doesn’t it go from being a forum to just being a sounding board at that point?

Yeah, basically an echo chamber for a particular flavour of fundamentism--whatever the biggest bully says, goes.
JonC defines it more by what he is not, neither Calvinist nor Arminian, not in Original Sin, not into Pst, not into spiritual death, so hard to see if even into Fundamentalism still?

I remember when "Baptist Board" used to be a "Big Brother" to the FFF where "Dr Bob" came over as a "Voice of Reason" and balance to many of us who were trying to sort things out after getting shed of things related to IFBx and whatever. I love how the FFF has become much more matured and where some of us "young guns" have now become the "elder statesmen" and the voice of reason for some of the "Whippersnappers" dipping their toes in here! I hope we are making the "Docs" (Dr. Bob, Dr. Cassidy, Etc.) proud!

I tried to register to get back on the Baptist Boards but there was "Nothin' doin" I guess from the "Higher-ups!" Same with the Sharperiron foums. Oh well, I guess I have better things to do anyway.

Are you saying that Sharperiron would not allow you to join? Did they let you know on what basis?

In those days that you were referring to when we were cutting our teeth, figuring things out, I would read sharper iron to get the more intellectual take on fundamentalism. I was enjoyed their stuff, even though I sirted it back then through somewhat of a KJVo filter (I thought it was a Bojo snobby thing).

I tried to re-register numerous times with no response from them whatsoever aside from saying that my request was being reviewed. I had been on there previously but forgot my prior login credentials and so forth. It was, and still is a good site where you could have substantive discussion. Perhaps they were somewhat "snobby" and I likely chafed against that back in the day but nowadays, I could probably overlook such things.

I also tried joining the "Puritan Forums" but they are quite strict and selective regarding who they allow to join and participate! You actually have to subscribe to one of the historic confessions (Westminster, Belgic, London Baptist, New Hampshire, Etc.) and specifying any exceptions you may be taking. I told them I was "Calvinistic" but more of a "BFM 2000" kind of guy and they rejected me but at least they had the common courtesy of telling me so and why. Not really interested in being part of an "echo chamber" to be perfectly honest.

So, here am I. Back on the trusty old FFF, an older and (hopefully) wiser version of my former "Renegade" self!

Does anyone really check it? That happened to me on here. I always logged in using biometrics thumbprint on my iPhone. When my phone was reset (or maybe it was new), my password wasn’t saved, and I ran into the same issue with my email address. It ended up being a nightmare with a bunch of different websites, some of which were attached to my credit card like paying for road tolls. 😳

My interactions with JonC have always been pleasant and I do believe in penal substitutionary atonement. How unfortunate it is to see this kind of gossiping about a fellow believer. What a shame.

I was once on the Puritan Board, as do hold to the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith, but got the boot as expressing to many times in their opinion belief in believers baptism and how Reformed Baptists are legit reformed, but guess no to them

And my real life experiences on the BB are vastly different than yours so it’s not cool for anyone to start bashing a brother in the Lord behind their back.

True, we should not be lying against someone, but think taht I am just giving what many of us have been experiencing while posting over on that Board

I'm not dismissing your personal experience. I've debated JonC on the issue of penal substitutionary atonement before, and he has always been respectful. Based on my own observations, trouble arises when one side starts to fan the flames.

It’s not that serious bro.

He has stated to me that the wrath of God is a Pagan doctrine, that the saved sinner had no objective wrath that had to be accounted for, that we were not born spiritual dead sin, that Calvinism is man made fully, exalting humans over God for salvation, how can ANY of that be considered as sound Baptist theology and doctrines? And he always comes back with we worship authors, get theology from Reformed and Baptist authors and not from the bible at all, yet all of those he mislikes got their theology derived out from the scriptures themselves

I suppose you wouldn’t mind if I started spreading rumors about you on other message boards.
Not a bit. I’ll give you a sentence starter: “Dr. Huk&Duk of the FFF doesn’t consistently attend church. He attended a secular university and he’s a known tobacco user.” OK, now have fun….

That's interesting subject material, but I'm not going to do that since I have some level of integrity.
