I think that it comes down to his personal tact and style, as its one thing to have disagreements, its another thing to state categorically that we are wrong, he is right, and to state that we are relying not upon the bible but reformed and Baptist sources to get our our theology, yet those sources got their theology from bible itself
many of the pooters there are great, and not saying JonC isn't, just that he is getting way to strict on how he handles any who dare to question hs views, as he is "biblical" while we are using other sources and not getting doctrines and theology "just from the bible"
Gossiping? I am just stating why I cannot stand the place. The guy is heavy handed and will notlisten to anyone and has called my faith into question dozens of times. Gossip. Hardly.
I tried joining the Puritan Board. I told them I subscribe to one of the confessions exceopt that I am not a strict Sabbatarian. The guy literally told me via email the followng: "We don't want any non Sabbatarians. Rejected."I tried to re-register numerous times with no response from them whatsoever aside from saying that my request was being reviewed. I had been on there previously but forgot my prior login credentials and so forth. It was, and still is a good site where you could have substantive discussion. Perhaps they were somewhat "snobby" and I likely chafed against that back in the day but nowadays, I could probably overlook such things.
I also tried joining the "Puritan Forums" but they are quite strict and selective regarding who they allow to join and participate! You actually have to subscribe to one of the historic confessions (Westminster, Belgic, London Baptist, New Hampshire, Etc.) and specifying any exceptions you may be taking. I told them I was "Calvinistic" but more of a "BFM 2000" kind of guy and they rejected me but at least they had the common courtesy of telling me so and why. Not really interested in being part of an "echo chamber" to be perfectly honest.
So, here am I. Back on the trusty old FFF, an older and (hopefully) wiser version of my former "Renegade" self!

Those on the outside looking in have no idea about the context that lead to these so-called heavy handed conversations that took place on a completely different message board and presumably under a different screen name.
My time here has been short, but so far I’ve already had to block @DrHuk&Duck for petty personal attacks and for being downright childish. That’s not gossip—you can look at this site’s history over the last 2 days.

LOL. This is coming from the same guy (?) who more than once poked fun of my forum name, called me a “buffoon,” and then twice announces to the entire forum that I’ve been “blocked.” You seem like a real winner.
I also found a definition. It’s for the word “butthurt.” According to Merriam-Webster: “Butthurt describes being upset or offended—usually in a way that seems over-the-top, silly, or unwarranted. The word can be a noun ('I don't know what caused this butthurt') or an adjective ('I don't know why he was acting so butthurt'.”

How do they define that term though? Is it keeping the Jewish Sabbath, or of keeping Sunday as the Lords Day? I was kicked off their site for being too Reformed Baptist, as never accepted their Infant Baptisism, nor how to view end times
JonC is now resorting to calling out we Calivinists who dare to get theology not from bible, but from philosophy only, and accuses us of borderline not even being saved
