Hey, JesusFan...

From my limited reading of the Confessions, you are not allowed to work on Sunday, which they call the Lord's Sabbath, or some other legalistic name like that.
They would have a really tough time with me also, as while honor Sunday as day to worship the Lord, hear sermons, still also sit down later to watch football game

No. It is not a misunderstanding. He equates people who hold to Penal Substitutionary Atonement with people who are Mormons. That is exactly what he has done to me. And I openly challenged him on it and he dances around the issue. That board is dying because he is a moderator.
Now he is calling those of us holding to Psa as being "in the flesh", and being blind, and did ask him if that meant was saying not saved, and his reply was some might be in that state as being blinded ny human philosophy of men

Maybe you could ask him to join the discussion here and he can clarify what he meant.

He is right now waging a Holy war over there against we who are Calvinists and Hold to Psa atonement views

Be that as it may, any grievances against a brother should be kept in house. He disagrees with Calvinism—so does the majority of Christendom.

That’s my point. I wouldn’t go into someone else house and discuss what was talked about in another person’s house.

A Internet forum isn't private like someone's house. It's a bulletin board system. By nature it's meant to be public and readable. Is it "gossip" if I come to your house and discuss the help wanted notices posted at the supermarket entrance?

I fail to see the comparison you’re trying to make. This is a separate Internet forum with its own unique group of members. If someone starts speaking out against a member from elsewhere, the rest of us are left in the dark because it’s not convenient or practical to check out the facts for ourselves.

For the record, I’ve only interacted with JonC a limited number of times. I don’t know the man and I don’t have to “defend his honor”. If someone started making accusations against you or anyone else here, I would be calling out that hypocrisy just the same.

Obviously.

Then be honest about your real complaint. You're accusing someone else of "gossip" when what you actually mean is that they're talking about stuff you're in the dark about.

No one expects you to know everything, but your personal ignorance is not someone else's fault.

All I see are endless excuses to justify berating a fellow believer.

For any lurkers out there, let this thread serve as a great example of how NOT to behave.

I think someone has a man crush on JonC. I’m not going to tell you his name, but it rhymes with “peed.” 1761179890194.gif

One can disagree with us who hold to Calvinism, but should not be stating hold to heresy, nor wonder if even really saved

What I see is someone who can't defend his assertion, so now he's shaming people who disagree.
He really gets upset when one dares to state that his new views on the Atonement seem to be NT Wright lite

Perhaps you are correct, but I'm only saying that it isn't proper to speak of another member's conduct when they aren't present. This should only be discussed with him on the Baptist Board or he should be invited here before a conversation like this gets started.

it seems though that he has already been asked to participate over here and has declined that invitation
