How Phil Robertson Defeated the Sodomites

A&E wasn't offended. A&E was afraid they would lose ratings (those things that bring in $) and calculated wrongly. Their principles are profit, pure and simple.

I have no problem with your definition of their principles.

My point is that their first reaction was to fulfill the PC liberal expectation.
Many liberals are liberal until it costs them something....as opposed to it costing them our money!  :)

For the record...I do not wish to be associated in any way with what I interpret as the intent or spirit of the OP.....

Because that expectation led them to believe that his comments would hurt ratings. (i.e. It would hurt their bottom line.)

Fixed it for you. ;)

Do you, or Smellin for that matter, really believe that political Correctness had nothing to do with their original,
(hypocritical) response?
If so, would you like to buy the Brooklyn Bridge? :)

I believe that they are only concerned about how much money they can make and no. :)

Like I was telling a friend (who agreed), virtually every politician and media personality is nothing more than an actor. Guys like Michael Moore, Glenn Beck, Senator _______, Rush Limbaugh, or Rachel Maddow....they are playing a part for an audience because it gives them something they want. If they had to play a different part to get the same thing, they would learn their new lines in a heartbeat.

Perhaps. But like all big businesses, one group makes a decision and another overrides that decision. Happens in our company all the time. One group saw it from some of the employees' point of view and corporate greed overruled.

That is how I see it.
