My doctrine has changed over the years. But one thing I have noticed is the confusion in Baptists circles about some of the doctrines of the Hebrew Roots movement. I am not formally a member of any Hebrew Roots church but have found a similar thinking in my personal pursuit of the truth. So in some cases I will differ. Id like to answer questions in a way that is polite and Christ like and not contentious.

Welcome aboard, Hooper! Look forward to your insights!

Welcome to the forum.

Do you eat bacon?

I went Vegetarian 7 months ago. My number one reason was doctrinal, health was secondary.

Since neither Judaism nor Christianity requires vegetarianism, I would like to see your doctrinal rationale.

God gave man dominion over the garden. He was to care for animals. God designed man to remain healthy on plants and our teeth show us to be herbavores. From the book of Enoch, we see it was the giants of the fallen ones who introduced meat eating. It was disembodied Nephelim like Moloch that demanded a human sacrifice. I think we all agree that when a Satanist kills a cow and eats its flesh and drinks it's blood we are disgusted.
Enoch chapter 6

7:3became pregnant and brought forth great giants whose stature was three thousand ells.7:3 These devoured
7:4all the acquisitions of mankind till men were unable to sustain themselves.7:4 And the giants turned themselves against mankind
7:5in order to devour them.7:5 And they began to sin against the birds and the beasts, and against the creeping things, and the
7:6fish, and devoured their flesh among themselves, and drank the blood thereof.7:6 Then the earth complained of the unjust ones.

Genesis 1:29-30

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

Gen 9:2  The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth and upon every bird of the heavens, upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea. Into your hand they are delivered.
Gen 9:3  Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.
Luk 24:42  They gave him a piece of broiled fish,
Luk 24:43  and he took it and ate before them.

You seem to be at odds with both the Old Testament and the New Testament.

Only the parts that are not true.

This is a great place for a Hebrew Roots religious vegetarian. Most on this forum have had to deal with the inconsistencies and capricious nature of man-made rules.

Many, here, have realized that the Bible is clear about the erroneous and sometimes heretical roots from which they came. They have worked through, or are working through the brainwashing of legalism.

Welcome... again!

Yes Yes, its like putting a complicated puzzle together where your enemy is constantly trying to start the puzzle by putting the first pieces together incorrectly. Most build on the foundation they have been given. I believe the truth is there, but you need to step back from the tree to see it. I don't believe that ritual human sacrifice was Gods plan to redeem man. Christ came preaching the gospel message. So it was His life that brings salvation and not His death.

The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

The salvation message....

5 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Yes! I also believe in non-violent atonement.

Proves to the folks on this forum that I really don't make up theology as I go along. ;)

Whatever this has to do with vegetarianism... then I don?t get it.

I?m off to get a bone in ribeye!
