I really don't care how federal revenue is generated. I do care that the government is unable to manage it in any meaningful or responsible manner. Before we "redistribute" any money to anyone from any source, we should pay back what we already owe. Pretty radical I know but here I am.
Since government is so bad... I like it when they send me my money back.

They spent all of our money. They are blowing through our great grandkid's money now.
The country is bankrupt. The next big thing will be a version of the Breton Woods Accord with the US ceding the international currency of record to the Chinese Yuan. We did it to Britain as their "friend". I harbor no illusions that China will go easy on us when the time comes.

But, but - if the purpose of the "beautiful" tariffs is to punish countries with which we have trade deficits, how come Trump has levied tariffs on countries with which we sell them more than they sell to us?

2) force compliance with nations instead of sanctions
BTW: i sell equipment to Canada almost every week. The tarrifs have not really effected my sales there. I sold $24,000 unit to Ottawa 2 weeks ago, $32,000 usd unit to Toronto last week and another $40,000 unit to Mississauga this week.
I am not saying this to brag, but the effects are being overstated by the media.
