Hello, I really don't know how to do this. But because of what some of you have done, I feel I have to write on here.

My name is Michelle, I am Scott's sister. While going through Scott's journal I found a reference to this site and a username and password. After reading on here I see where my brother told his story. I am sorry if he has caused you any problems. But what some of you have done to him has hurt him and our family deeply.

My brother is a seriously disturbed man. we know that. Our family wishes he had never gone to hyles anderson. I wish none of us had ever heard of the place. He went there back in the 80's and came home really screwed up. He quit the college all of a sudden. he showed up on my parents doorstep one afternoon. saying he had quit school and they were after him going to get him. He wouldn't tell us what happened why he left. He couldn't sleep, got hooked on prescription drugs and started collecting guns.

His life became so strange. About 2 weeks after he quit college the chancellor of the college and a man Scott said was from the security force showed up at my parents house wanting to talk to Scott. Scott went berserk, grabbing a gun and screaming at them threatening to blow them all away. It took my father and 2 brothers to hold him off and calm him down. After many years he opened up and told us his story. I still find it hard to believe. But don't tell that to Scott.

Scott's life has been a hard one. He has had several failed marriages and has been unable to hold a job for more than a few months at a time. We thought he was getting better and his new wife is a really sweet girl who is patient with him. Several weeks ago he told me that he had found someone to tell his story to. I had no idea it was an internet chat room. After reading his journal he was excited that someone might finally believe him but he went into depression again when he realized people were just making fun of him.

About 10 days ago his wife found him unconscious on the floor of his bathroom. There were 3 empty bottles of sleeping pills and a empty bottle of scotch. We got him to a hospital where they saved his life. He is now in another hospital where we hope he can get the help he needs.

We are a Christian family who loves the Lord. We also love and support our brother. Please pray for him and his wife an kids at this time.

Michelle, your post is more than a bit confusing.  "Scott" posted a story that most of us find unbelievable.  There are all kinds of FBCH/HAC myths that people have made bigger than life.  We make fun because we don't believe the story.  Your post takes it to another level.  To me it sounds like the two of you need to bake a dozen chocolate chip cookies and take them to someone in need.

You seem to base Scott's mental instability on what happened to him at HAC.
Is that true?

If any of this is true (fat chance) than blaming seeing some magical room at FBCH for all the problems is way out there.

Sometimes delusions can be a result of mental illness and may be realistic to the individual experiencing it. (Paranoia can do that.) I highly doubt HAC caused any mental instability but perhaps it could have exacerbated it.

If the OP is to be believed, I hope Scott gets the medical and emotional assistance he needs to overcome this sickness.

I still give him the benefit of the doubt, not that his story is necessarily true but that he really believes his story to be true. :)

This could probably be said about many FBCH/HAC myths.  :)

I thought I saw Santa Claus at my bedroom door when I was 6.

Pardon me while I quote Alice from her time spent in Wonderland "Curiouser and Curiouser"  :-X

He is now in another hospital where we hope he can get the help he needs.

So "Scott" has serious issues so he keeps a journal?  Could it be that these issues stem from having a "sister" who goes through his private things?  The "wife" has no problem with that?

Now "Sis" writes that Scott has lost the ability to read?

Well, give us the name/address of the hospital and the room # and we'll all mail him a get-well card.  Or have someone stop by to visit him.  He must be in the college area since the "chancellor" and security drove there to see him.  BTW, what church does the family attend?

Sounds a bit contrived to me. In order for me to half-way believe your post, begs the suggestion that this man was emotionally troubled before he ever got the HAC.

I'm no fan Hyles, Schaap or HAC, however, I don't think even a place like Hammond could screw a person up to the degree you see to be describing.

I know a number of HAC-grads who are serving in various places. Most of them are theological idiots, but they're not disturbed.

This story just doesn't smell right to me.

Sign me, Not Dr Freud  ???

Now we get a story that is even harder to believe, than the fact that the security elves had to disassemble that phantom room 4 times a week so the rest of us wouldn't see the spy network hub.
Now, we are to believe that Jack Hyles showed up at Scott's house, with security (the same security guards that I used to push into the HAC lake, or easily outrun, when I was a teen, BTW).
It's a bit much.

I must say, though, that ScottSis is an excellent writer.

I wonder if this guy ever got his life straightened out?
