Dr. Dobson long ago sold his ministry out in order to obtain what is in his view progress. I do not doubt his sincerity, but I have zero confidence, less than zero actually, in his spiritual discernment. His approach to Donald Trump is not the reason for my perspective; it is simply an evidence of it.

He is a wonderfully awful example of American contemporary Christianity.

I confess I don't know a lot about Dr. Dobson other than listening to him on the radio and that he comes from a Church of Christ background.  Having said that the radio broadcasts I have heard were very good in my opinion and his assessment of Donald Trump is pretty much my assessment.

Donald Trump is no Christian example by any means but he has surrounded himself with people who have political views in accordance with Biblical morality.  Mike Pence grew up Roman Catholic but in College he became an evangelical born again Christian and has never been ashamed of his Christian faith.

Other than Biker implying that Dr. Ben Carson is no better than a pedophile because of his SDA background Dr. Carson has been outspoken in his defense of the Christian faith even though I may disagree with some of his doctrine.

I look at the bigger picture which is if Hillary Clinton gets in power the corruption will bring about laws that will make many Christian beliefs illegal and justices she appoints will shred the constitution of the freedoms we have enjoyed as American citizens.  Too many holier than thou Christians if honest would never vote for any President we have had because they were all flawed men. 

I also am more concerned about America's future than Donald Trump's past.

He no longer talks that way... according to those currently who know him.

So... why is forgiveness such an obstacle in this election?

Theologically, forgiveness is based on repentance. Since Trump has said he doesn't believe he has anything to repent for, why should he expect forgiveness?

I?ve never said I?m a perfect person, nor pretended to be someone that I?m not. I?ve said and done things I regret, and the words released today on this more than a decade-old video are one of them.

Anyone who knows me knows these words don?t reflect who I am. I said it, I was wrong, and I apologize.

Looks like repentance to me... especially, since there have been no recent reports of the same behavior.
