Iran, the next war.

Same. And I thought I was doing better this year by increasing my withholdings. I think next year will be better because I’m diverting extra money towards a HSA card. You might want to look into that if it’s an option with your employer.

And what, in your opinion, is the rich's fair share of taxes?

Why should you pay a higher tax rate than these massive corporations? ...

Which is?
Verizon pays 8%
Walmart pays 17%
AT&T pays 3%
Disney pays 8%
FedX pats 1%

More than this. If you don’t see this as being unreasonable than you are just being difficult on purpose

That's not what I asked. What, in your opinion, is the rich's fair share of taxes?
You didn’t answer my question.

So you don't know.

The top 1% of earners have about 25% of the income share and pay about 45% of the income taxes--in other words, nearly as much as the entire lower 99%. The top 10% of earners bear the majority of the tax load. (Source)

If, as one of the memes you parroted says, the top 1% are now paying $8,000 less, then that's actually a step in the right direction of paying their "fair share."

You didn’t answer my question.

I don't. Much of the tax load of the corporations passes through to the owners or shareholders, which accounts for part of the disproportionately high tax burden of the very wealthy. And the corporation itself pays tax not on gross income, but net--after expenditures rather than before, as an individual does.

In other words, what you are claiming is unfair tax avoidance, is actually just a difference in accounting.

This is controversial. At some point, "the fair share" might not be the "ideal share" to avoid "capital flight". One of President Reagan's advisors is the guy behind the Laffer Curve, I like that idea. Also, I think we need to define "rich"...Some people are also unaware that there are different types of taxes for high net worth individuals (more than 1 million USD) and ultra high net worth individuals (more than 30 million USD): capital gains taxes, wealth taxes, luxury property taxes, inheritance taxes, income taxes, total income tax...The idea behind the Laffer Curve is that there's an "ideal" tax rate at which point increasing the tax decreases revenue due to decreased consumption of taxed good/service. So, for me, the rich's fair share of taxes in reality is just enough to avoid capital flight, the USA currently doesn't have a wealth tax, I think a wealth tax of 0.10% on any amount that exceeds valuations of 30 million USD is a reasonable thing to discuss. Billionaires can get 2%. I don't think America is ready for the 5% one, black people are going to go crazy.

No question about it, Kennedy had some serious issues with philandering. I recently read the book by Mimi Alford, one of his many mistresses. Let's not even talk about Marilyn Monroe, Judith Campbell Exner, Diana de Vegh, Mary Meyer, "Inga Binga," Fiddle and Faddle, etc.

I suppose that this consideration would disqualify Bibi as a "moral compass," too.

"Netanyahu has been married three times and has been involved in multiple extramarital affairs. Netanyahu's first marriage was to Miriam Weizmann . . . . In 1978, while Weizmann was pregnant, Netanyahu met a non-Jewish British student named Fleur Cates at the university library, and began an affair. His marriage ended in divorce soon after Miriam discovered the affair. . . . In 1993, Netanyahu confessed on live television to having an affair with Ruth Bar, his public relations adviser." [Wikipedia]
Yes, add the Christ-denying Jew to the list of people that I won’t be drawing my moral imperative from.😉

I may, however, cite him as an authority on Middle East self defense against radical murderous terrorists who behead their enemies, rape their hostages, and burn babies alive.

So how much do the one percent pay in taxes in total?
Verizon pays 8%
Walmart pays 17%
AT&T pays 3%
Disney pays 8%
FedX pats 1%

I keep referring to corporations. Trump cut from either Medicaid or Medicare (I forget which one) to make this happen. This is why I believe that he turned his back on (amongst other things) us and has been compromised.

Why do corporations pay taxes at all? It's passed on to you and me in their prices.

I'm guessing that's part of the reason why a C-corporation like Walmart is taxed in their net rather than their gross. Employees are payroll taxed, shareholders are taxed on their dividends, customers are essentially paying for their taxes on their behalf. Duh wants them to be taxed twice.

How is it right that FedX pays 1%!

Historically, lowering taxes on those who actually provide jobs and produce goods/services has been a way to strengthen the economy. I’m not wealthy by any standard and my tax situation is much better now than last year.

The break in our federal taxes is welcome because I'm paying taxes on income to a state that I'm not even a resident of and last year, the county in which I reside doubled the assessed value of our property.
