Johnny Bench makes anti-Semitic joke at Reds Hall of Fame Induction

I used to see this one girl driving around town who was always packing a wad and spitting juice in a bottle. The crazy part is she wasn’t terrible looking at that!

I actually had two great-grandmas who chewed/dipped. I don’t have any memories of the one doing it, so she must’ve quit by the time I knew her, or she just didn’t do it when I was around. The other great granny did it in front of me, but she had Alzheimer’s when I knew her, so they eventually made her quit because she kept spilling the cup and making a mess.
I am reasonably saturated in hillbilly culture but apparently I’ve lived a sheltered life because I have never encountered a single female who chewed or snuffed.

Do they grow tobacco in your area?

Sure, not the main crop usually and not like in Carolina or Virginia, but still in small crops. I asked my wife, who grew up more rural in the country than me, if she had ever known any females personally that chewed. She said no, but she believes that her great grandma did, and that they raised tobacco.

I think it was more common among rural women back in the early 1900s than we’d like to think. I figured they grew tobacco in Ohio because I’ve spent some time in northern Kentucky and I know it’s grown there.
