we have a lot of friends in israel... and while they are all very happy to see american support - a few of them are wondering if the u.s. is becoming the kind of country germany and even france was when the nazis came to power... ... a place where they could no longer find refuge or help from friends and neighbors if the terrorists ..(or nazis)... came for them.... .

Sadly, many leaders of the left’s leadership are becoming, seemingly, more and more hostile to Israel and Jews. I’ve gone into some of the reasons for this in other threads, and ABCaines also contributed a solid theory. I honestly don’t think the average rank & file American (even Democrats) feel this way. The American media is largely Jewish controlled, so I’m hoping that these sentiments don’t get spread too far among the average Americans who are mainly concerned about getting their kids to school and getting to work by 8am, rather than focusing on international politics.

Academia has been captured, by and large, by the Marxist mindset in which there are classes of "oppressor" and "oppressed," and they almost universally stand with the "oppressed" class, regardless of the legitimacy of their cause. The "colonizer" stuff is the same thing with a different label.

Black Lives Matter operates under the same assumption, which is why they seem to uniformly be apologists for violent criminals. Holding up a store at gunpoint is an act of resistance; getting shot to death when you point the gun at police is an act of oppression. Not surprisingly, they also voiced support for the Hamas crime gang:

This is, of course, too simplistic. A higher body count doesn't put you in the right. Germany lost almost 20 times as many people in WW2 as the U.S. They weren't the good guys.
