The contemporary worship issue was a tempest in a teapot.

But you just know someone in the IFB world will be claiming that last year's issue led inevitably to this year's.

I visited his church while his dad was still the pastor in the early 2000's. Heard him preach at Kurt Skelly's church when Skelly was still the pastor.
Last I heard he was on the board of directors at Skelly's college, Veritas.
Heartbreaking news.
How one can think that there is not a God in heaven who would bring to pass: "Be sure, your sin will find you out."

He’s a disgusting pervert and only got the job because his daddy owned the company.

Not doubting nepotism had a role but by all accounts he was a gifted and effective ‘speaker’. And thus he was in high demand as a speaker in certain IFB circles. And the church evidently grew under his leadership.

I personally never understood his appeal but he was not simply riding his father’s coattails.

Just another reminder, that man looks upon the outward appearance and sees “success”, but God knows the heart. Take heed lest ye fall.

This could happen to anyone but its an important truth to not follow man who will change in a heart beat. God never changes. I was never a follower of preachers/speakers. Sadly I was following a young couple and he on several occasions went out with people that he was working with his wife never knew until she lost their 3rd child. I stopped following them because he can't be trusted. Women need to be wiser ...........

Right, more of a salesmanship type speaker. He was able to motivate like Zig Ziglar (I think that’s his name) type person.
