I'm sure Tardheel would agree....

Your sources are a little slanted...so now it is a matter of liberalism to support freedom of religion?  The SBC is not joining in "building Mosques" as the writers of your sources would have some believe...the SBC is doing what it has always done...support religious freedom, for without it for all, then none have it.  Are you against religious freedom?

Here is a little more balanced article explaining this...

I absolutely agree that liberalism is idiotic...
Thanks for the opportunity to proclaim this truth, little 'p' - rophet!

Whaaaaat?  Baptists support the religious liberty of groups other than Baptist?

Heresy! Burn them!

They aren't putting any money into the facility nor are they pouring cement or driving nails. Just going on record that Muslims also have the right to build places of worship.

The scandal of it all!

Dang it! I was hoping to dress my wife in a burka! They are sexy!!!

I could also point out that the author of the Pulpit & Pen article isn't arguing against the SBC's support for the freedom of Muslims to build mosques per se, but against religious liberty in general.

Something tells me But Ahlheim isn't a Baptist! :)

Now that J. D. Hall (who is Baptist) is no longer associated with P&P, I wonder if they're going to slide into a more theonomist stance?

?We really felt it was important to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our Muslim brothers and sisters,? Walker said.

While I agree if we are going to have religious liberty, it must be equal across the board...I certainly don't agree with the he "Muslim, brother & sister" statement by Walker. I believe I will let him know!

So I go on to the website of the Baptist Joint Commission for Religious Liberty, and I find no affiliation with the SBC...just a list of liberal & progressive Baptist...so little wonder Mr. Walker made the "Muslims being brothers & sister" remark.  Doubt many of us would have much in common with Walker's theology.  Doesn't change the fact that religious liberty needs to be afforded to all groups.

Please, and thank you.

You may get somewhere.

On the other hand, you may find a double agent.

"Religions" that believe they should conquer the world politically...are not.
And they should not be afforded protection as if they were.

Again while I agree with your sentiment ..they must break the law before such can be taken away. You do realize that hpthere are those who claim our desire to see the world come to Christ, call us militants and dangerous!
