Let me start this discussion by saying that I am personally, religiously, morally, against abortion and gay marriage, with that being said...
Both have been declared the Law of Land by the Supreme Court and in the case of abortion it has withstood every single attempt to overturn or limit it's function by a conservative supreme court.  Gay marriage has been challenged and lost in the same court.

Is it time for conservatives to "move on" politically and quit playing this card in every single election.  Precedent has been set, the courts ARE NOT going to change...period.

We meaning the religious right..picked our battles and we have lost and will continue to lose in national elections until we quit screaming about what is wrong with America and start promoting fresh ideas that will move us as a nation forward.

So here is my question: This will of course make "Christians" the minority in national elections..so what should we focus on moving forward?

Thanks,

Billy

There is no moving forward.

You can't forget about these things.

Blessed is the nation who's God is the Lord.

What idea is going to cover up the fact that we have legally slaughtered millions of unborn children? What idea is going to cover up the fact that we don't care who's screwing who, with what, and in what???

Its not just this. Its much more. You can't remove work from society and let the minority support the majority with taxation.... and etc....

The blind can't lead the blind and not expect to fall into the ditch. All the "new".... "fresh" ideas in the world won't change this.

Revelation 22:11

11 Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.?

Yeah.... God sends an angel to give a message to "John" about things that should scared men into repentance.......

Yet... God says don't change!!!

Yeah. That makes sense all right.

Just why did God demand the churches in chapter 2 thru 3 repent..... and yet say these words in chapter 22:11?

even verse 14 is a glaring contradiction....

Rev 22:14  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city

I still agree with v.11.  It's not our job to get unbelievers to stop engaging in sin.  We can't stop that, and electing Christians won't stop that, either.  But we can be faithful to Christ, ourselves, and preach Christ to unbelievers so that, God willing, they repent.

I'm sure there are millions of people who are glad the abolitionists didn't think that way before 1865.

And the poor-choicers didn't think that way before Roe v. Wade, so why should pro-lifers?

Unjust laws happen, which is why there are legal procedures to change them. Defeatism, on the other hand, will not.

I agree with you.... but the Scriptures ARE.... written to change mankind. That is what we're talking about here. That is their intent and purpose. You're also ignore the contradictions. One place it records a call to repentance. Another it says "stay the same".

Exactly.
And abortion and homosexuality have always been moral, Biblical issues...but somehow because they are political issues, Christians aren't supposed to address them. 'God ordained human government but doesn't want his people involved in it' said no Bible verse ever.*

* Not saying that Billy believes that, but many seem to have that opinion.

Some believe that abortion, or at least as we know it today pretty much legal in all cases. was in jeopardy to some degree until the death of Justice Scalia.
