A while back a young lady posted on FB that for adults to suggests that young girls pray for their future spouses is an act of misogyny.

The conversation where Smellin' equates a man desiring sex with his wife more than 4 time a year as misogyny made me wonder what exactly misogyny is (or isn't). The definition is related to hatred but I don't see how praying for future spouse is hateful Or why it is only hateful advice to a young lady but not to a young man.

Praying for a husband is not misogyny. That's a word that has been watered down through overuse and redefinition, not unlike "racism" or "fascism."

Deliberately targeting women for violence or exploiting them for sex is misogynist. Praying for a husband, holding a door open, or having pro- life opinions are not.

You've timed your post about me just right, just as the "alternative facts" administration takes over. ;)

No, praying for one's future spouse is not misogyny. (Neither is one desiring sex with his wife more than four times a year.)

Misogyny (/m??s?d??ni/) is the hatred of, contempt for, or prejudice against women or girls. Misogyny can be manifested in numerous ways, including social exclusion, sex discrimination, hostility, androcentrism, patriarchy, male privilege, belittling of women, violence against women, and sexual objectification.

Yes, a man forcing his wife to have sex with him against her will is misogynistic. It is called 'marital rape'.

Okay.

Now what does that have to do with my questions and how does it relate to your charge that Evangelical Churches teach misogyny?

It should be obvious...evangelical churches have been deceived for 2000 years to accept Paul's writings into the Canon.
Now, Smellin has come to reveal to us the truth!
Finally!

But, Paul was a woman hater and so are evangelicals...that's probably the only reason they give credence to Paul.
How can you not see that?!  :)

The idea that women have different but co-equal roles in a marriage and in the home is considered misogynistic by some. The idea that the responsibilities God gives a man are sometimes different than that of a woman is also considered misogynistic by some. The idea that a man is responsible to support, protect and to love and cherish his wife is also considered misogynistic by many on the left. The idea that I want to treat my wife like a queen and love her, (even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it) may also seem chauvinists to some.

I do not think proper God given gender roles are misogynistic or Male chauvinists.

Misogyny: is the hatred (or forced exclusion) of women and things perceived as feminine.
(hatred, fear, or intolerance of women)

Male chauvinists: treat female interests as secondary to men's and typically depersonalize women as people of equal worth.
