I don't think I've ever seen a  thread locked on the FFF because of "moribund".

Dangerous precedent!!!!

lol, unless I'm misunderstanding the normal meaning of the word ("dying") I'd say that the thread was about to do ANYTHING BUT die.  It was about to shoot like a rocket into the stratosphere :D

And I agree that it shouldn't have been locked, but as I said, his house, his rules.

Honestly. I don't know how anyone could operate a forum. Seems like a huge liability.

Not at all. The disclaimer you agreed to in joining any forum.... is pretty much bullet proof.

He made a dad decision. No rules were violated.

I wasn't even part of the argument. I don't have "dog in the race".... but to lock a thread for "moribund"...... was nothing more than power play.

PY and I agree on something! Praise Jeebus!

But how many people actually read the disclaimer versus just clicking on "agree" so they can get to posting? Of all the forums I've joined in my almost 20 years online, I don't think I've read a single disclaimer in its entirety. Common sense covers most any forum rules, and by hanging around for a while, you can usually figure out the ones common sense doesn't cover. Watch who gets banned / put in a time out for what they post, and it's pretty easy to figure out the rules.

:)

Come on Al, it was ordained before the foundation of the earth was laid that the thread be locked

""for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked?""

Or... It could be that I didn't trust his posting because he refused to see that posting pictures of naked women is against all normal conventions of decency.

Sometimes forcing a poster to take a break will give him time to reflect on their mistakes.

Pretty good explanation of why he wasn't banned for posting the picture, but was only banned when he challenged your authority days later.

I don't know what is more ridiculous, the "authority" complex you have or that some of you go berserk that I put a poster on "time out" for posting pornography without regret.

Had I banned him (as I was tempted to do) the day of the offense, you "authority-freaks" still would have balked.

If it was for the image,  it wouldn't have taken two days. ..

Like any good leader, he had to gauge the reaction of the "community" to decide what to do. Apparently he is a friend of Cesear.
