Movie Standards

This thread is not necessarily to debate the right/wrong of going to or renting movies.  This is more a question of what kind of standards you have for the movies that you do watch.  If a movie has cussing will you watch it?  If a movie has nudity will you watch it?  Do you watch Rated PG and/or R movies?  What is your defense for watching or not watching?

Cursing is ok with me, but if the "F" drops to much my wife doesn't want to watch. So, that limits us.

Blood shed just to shed blood for no reason we stay away from.

Now, I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE, a good mafia movie. Good Fellas, all of the Godfathers, Casino, Blow (not a mafia movie but still good)

I've actually read well over 2 dozen mafia books, just finished Black Mass. It never ever ends well for these guys, ever.

The only one (as far as I can tell) that lived a full life was Carlo Gambino, died at his home as an old man.  My wife tells me I like those movies/books because I'm a Alpha Male and I tell her she fell in love with me because of my "bad boy image". LOL!!

Oh, and one more, we don't watch movies with our children when you're rooting for the bad guy.

That's funny! Yea, my dad loved watching those type movies as well.

I watched Rocky 3 so much when I was a kid I memorized the entire movie. LOL!
Any Stallone movie, I love that guy.

We need to plan a visit some time in the near future.  Me and my older brother, I'm sure he'd love to sit and visit, I know I would.

But you'd have to understand, he really knows nothing of the "Hyles" thing, like literally nothing.  He's never been in church after he moved out to go to college.

I don't know.

It's just not a big deal to me, I guess it just doesn't tempted me to sin, I guess.

Whereas nudity flashing all over the screen, well, you're a man you it it I'm sure. But cursing, I don't know not a big deal to me.

now if there is cursing in movies we do not watch them with my children.

Shouldn't be a problem for you.  Apparently the #OldPaths movement have really lowered their standards also.  Pretty sure I saw your pastor on stage at a CCM event last night with Southern Baptists and Non-Denoms.

That's easy, don't you know, there're breaking away from the traditional IFB in order to watch anything. R rated movies, it really doesn't matter to them. They probably watched Wolf of Wall Street, at the movie house with there grade school kids, because God loves them they can watch anything.

Isn't that the reason they are breaking away and trying to form their own movement? So they can watch R ratted movies and not feel guilty amongst the brethren.

It's true read Josh's blog post it says it in black and white right there on his blog.
