The difference, however, is that between a slogan and a movement. Reagan used the slogan "Make America Great Again" to great success, but it's Trump's followers, not Reagan's, that call themselves "MAGA" and walk around in matching hats. Reaganites generally called themselves "Reagan Republicans" or something along those lines. "MAGA" wasn't his brand.

Now you’re confused as to the meanings of a slogan, policy and a political movement.

Reagan left office 30+ years before Trump was on the political scene.

Reagan led the Reagan Revolution!
Trump leads the MAGA movement.
Two different men leading 2 groups of people separated by 3 decades.

Get a grip.

I guess you think a platform is only something that refers to what a speaker stands on while speaking to an audience. The years separating Reagan and Trump are inconsequential, particularly given that Trump was well into his 40s when Reagan left office, and therefore very aware of his politics and ideology.

You’re not nearly as smart as you pretend to be.

I call myself a "Reagan Conservative." I was 17 years old the evening I watched Reagan's nomination acceptance speech and it was the night that I became a Reagan Conservative! I was too young to vote for him back in 1980 but you had better bet that I voted for him in 1984! I got saved the following year in 1981 so I have been a Reagan Conservative for longer than I have been a Christian!

Reagan Democrats were democrats who crossed the aisle to vote for Reagan. When it became clear that Bush was nothing like Reagan, they went right back across the aisle and voted for Clinton along with a few "Clinton Republicans!"

A similar thing happened with Trump the first term. The “Obama-Trump” voter. I was one of them, so I know.

They are very, very different.
For instance, Reagan probably turned over in his grave over Trump’s tariff policy.
