Interesting commentary on the case of IFB preacher Nathan Rager, pastor of Independent Baptist Church of Tampa Bay in Port Richey, Florida, "a brand new, open air church plant in Tampa Bay… but we stick to the Old Paths. We still read the King James Bible, sing hymns, preach hard, and win souls."

If what he says is true, and he's supposed to be a minister, then he's violating the scriptures by not going the route prescribed IN the scriptures. Threatening to sue leaves it up in the air about his "ministry." His arrest says something about his character, or lack thereof.

I like the way he thinks no is allowed to talk about him while he has no reservations in telling the world his wife is mentally ill.

At first, I wondered if he was a HAC grad, but I see he was SBC, then went IFB.

If he was arrested, then the arrest and the reason for it are a matter of public record. If "Why Do the Nathans Rager" is threatening legal action over discussing the fact of his arrest, his threats have no merit. The Webmaster gets the final say, but as far as I'm concerned, reporting the news is fair game.

Looks like Slim Fast and Subway need a new spokesperson. The Old Ranger still needs to work on his comedy routine that way he and Tony Hutson can go on a preaching conference together riding motorcycles.

So the Old Ranger isn't a HAC grad but he admires Hyles? How many folks go from SBC to IFB?

Clarification please. If we have documented evidence that someone has a domestic violence charge, we can post the person's name and charges?

I don't know what the rules here are but I vaguely remember my Business Law instructor talking about the three defenses for libel/slander:
1. You are a senator arguing a point on the floor of the senate (of course politicians are going to lie)
2. You are a lawyer arguing a case in court (of course lawyers are going to lie)
3. What you speak is true.

If you have documented evidence that a person has a domestic violence charge, and it's on-topic for this forum (e.g., the personality involved is newsworthy with respect to fundamentalism, and it's not just you trying to slag your ex), then as far as I'm concerned, it's fine to post.
