NC has universal school choice law.

Is that Wiccan school next door to the school that increased tuition?
Yet I pay for gubmit schools that celebrate Gay Pride month, deceive parents over the gender confusion in their kids, warn white kids to reign in their privilege….yet test scores tank?

You continue to parrot liberal Democrat Teachers union propaganda!
Hallelujah!
How rich. You’re suddenly “concerned” about the scores of the public school students while the government-sponsored students on vouchers at private schools are exempt from testing accountability. LOL. 😆 You just can’t make this stuff up. I feel like I’m debating a toddler!

No. The left would love to get rid of the charter schools. No chance of any expansion of choice here.
I’m not anti-charter school. Of course the teacher unions and some liberals are anti-charter schools. What I’m against is paying parents for homeschooling and paying for the tuition of kids in private schools. Charter schools are public schools. They just have a private school board but they’re still tested like public schools children. I’m not anti-private schools. I just don’t think the government should subsidize private schools. The private school I pay tuition to doesn’t participate in receiving government funds. Those funds always come with strings. Tarheel will have a chance to see this in action very soon.

The progressive’s in NC are also against charter schools.
They want a monopoly on education via the public school system
Our state house and senate are Republican controlled and have expanded the voucher program and allowed for opening additional charter schools.

Our tax dollars at work:

OK, so when the Wiccan School for The LGBTQ Children one day opens in your city, don’t either of you dare come on this forum and complain that your hard earned American taxpayer money shouldn’t be used to subsidize children getting vouchers for free tuition at their school. I guess maybe then you’ll understand the wisdom of Dr. Huk and beg for his forgiveness.
Independent baptist fought for religous freedom as our country was founded. Each parent should choose.

Hammond baptist and City Baptist are getting vouchers in Indiana. So far no strings attached.

Sure. We’ll see in a few years how this plays out. It’s been a mess in Florida. Hopefully they don’t use the vouchers for kayaks, Disney tickets and big screen TVs like they have here: https://www.abcactionnews.com/news/...l-demand-more-transparency-on-school-vouchers
Huk, I am really not understanding your objections here! Will people try to abuse this as they do every other government program? I believe the answer to this is obvious!

Will the government step in and muff everything up with a load of bureaucracy and red tape? You can count on it!

Will the "School Choice" initiatives empower parents to seek educational alternatives that DO NOT aggressively indoctrinate their children to their godless, woke, Marxist agendas? What does "Captain Obvious" have to say about this?

And yes, the wizards and wiccans could certainly open up a "Hogworts School" for parents who are so inclined but I am all for parental choice and if they cannot have their choice, then neither can I!

School choice also benefits the public schools as concerned parents now get to vote with their feet and with their pocketbooks. If they see a sharp decline in enrollment due to the agenda they are trying to cram down our throats, perhaps they will wake up from their "wokeness", will take heed to parental concerns, and will get back to actually teaching and educating our kids in the essentials!

And of course the Public School Elitists and all the lefty-looney Marxists object to these School Choice initiatives because it takes away all the power they have over those who do not have the financial means to keep them out of these abominable institutions! The "Rich Elitists" object to school choice because it will mean fewer "mind-numbed robots" who are easily controlled in the workplace by the "rich elitist kids" who actually had opportunity for a quality education!

ANd let's get something perfectly straight here: This is OUR MONEY, not the Government's!

So I ask again, what exactly is your objection?

This conversation reminds me of tariffs/corporate taxes. Both get passed on to the consumer but they both get attacked or defended depending on political affiliation. The similar thing to a school voucher would be an EV tax credit. Again, both carry similar risks and benefits. Both are ripe for a big price increase that wipes away the benefit for the recipient. And the attacks and defenses will be predictable along political lines.

I’ll repost this again and let the North Carolina governor speak on my behalf. He states everything needed. In particular, facts 2, and 3-5: (https://governor.nc.gov/private-school-vouchers-fact-sheet/open)

Duly noted and I agree. I would ask how we could work this to our advantage though. As I have stated, I would like to start a no-frills, closed-enrolment Baptist academy where we could get the per-student cost as close as possible to what a family would be receiving through the vouchers. This is something we have control over and is where I Believe the church has opportunity to act.

I really do not have the time to dig through this article. Is anything addressed here that I have not addressed or acknowledged in my post? I believe I did a fairly good "SWOT Analysis" on this matter so what did I miss?
It’s a very short fact sheet. It’s not even an article. There are links to verify the bullet points, but that’s about it.

Yes, I have read it. Typical liberal bullet points that the "Gub'mint knows better" than you! Same arguments made since the 1990s and it seems that more and more are wising up to this.

It is definitely not the path of least resistance and much of the responsibily lies squarely upon the shoulders of the parents - as it should.
