You can certainly do that, probably best for you if you do.
I’m sure you’re a wonderful father and have no problem with you trying to get the best education for your kids. I did the same, but school choice allows those less financially able to do the same for their children. And it costs nothing in additional funding.
Whether I support it or not, it’s the law. My approval or disapproval is moot.

Albert Mohler's The Briefing episode for today has a good segment covering some of the school choice ("unschooling"...part 3 beginning at the 18 minute mark) issues y'all are discussing. Not surprisingly, given Mohler's conservative bent, his conclusions lean towards Tarheel's side of the equation.
Unless Everson vs Board of Education is overturned, this will be the outcome of vouchers.
From a legal POV, vouchers are in limbo right now. I haven’t done extensive research because I’ve mainly focused on Florida, but my understanding is that it’s a state-by-state basis, with some states having constitutions that have rejected its viability, while others like Florida have approved. I’m not sure that the religious angle works for those legal challenges because money is not going exclusively to religiously affiliated schools. There are plenty of non-sectarian schools receiving vouchers.

True…as long as religious schools are treated the same as secular schools school choice laws could open the door for what we call cults to receive such aid. BUT, since public schools already promote many things that violate my belief system that is already happening.

Every student I know who left urban public schools for specilized (public funded) charter schools did better. You are going to tell me students who leave the LA public schools, Detroit Public schools, Baltimore Public schools, the Chicago Public schools score worse when moving to a charter or private school. You clearly have not looked at the scores in these districts. I'm disappointed you would believe a left wing Democrat governour who is beholden to the NEA in every decision. If the public schools were seperior to the general private schools then no one would leave. If you think the outside testing somehow makes the schools better you are wrong. The failing schools continue to fail. do you really believe students in the Detroit, Chicago, Baltimore or LA public schools will perform worse if in a private school. You must be "Delusional". Look up the graduation rates or reading scores or ever the number of kids shot for those districts. The Baltimore public schools spends $21,000 per student, $20,000 per student in Chicago schools, Detroit public schools spends $17,300 and all are failing. Some of the urban school districts in this country are war zones. It is criminal and a travesty to force young people to be exposed to some of these school enviroments..
In indiana only some of the schools allocation goes with the student, the state gets a savings on the rest. Since the top 50% pay most of the property taxes they have every right to use their childs allocation as well. You talk about accountability check the long time records of our urban districts. Vouchers give parents options. The issue is the NEA and the School districts want every penny even if their schools have been failing for many years.

Under most programs the parent only gets a portion of their childs allocation. It's a net savings for the state and a win win.
The Bible was used as a primary reading textbook from the 17th to the mid-19th centuries. With the advent of cheaper printing in the States, books like the The New England Primer and later the McGuffey Reader series became popular. Most homes in early America only had a Bible so required home reading was often assigned from the it. Other biblical principals of ethics and morality were also taught out of the bible though matters of specific religion were oftten reserved for the church and home. The United States Supreme Court had very little to say about such practice untill the late 20th century. I say the money allocated for each child should be used to educate their children however parents see fit and guidlines for such education should come from the legislature regardless of funding. I also think most control of the public schools should be local not in the state capital and DC. States should provide min. standards and requirements, but the school boards should govern the local school districts.
