Gap theorists (as in the example I gave with Bob Jones) believe in an old earth and a literal man, Adam.

...deny that Adam was a single man.
Obviously, you've never really had a discussion at any length on the matter. In fact, I'm beginning to wonder if you're nothing more than theological "googler"
I never said "Young earth creationism" was a salvific doctrine. Denying the sin of Adam and the distorting the doctrine of the Incarnation IS!!!

My opinion is that the earth was one continent pre-flood. The continent was broken apart by the catastrophe that caused the flood. It released water under the crust, and the crust was broken into plates and pushed very rapidly apart, forming in just a year or so much of the geology scientists believe formed over millions of years. The continental drift of today is just the remaining energy still being released. That's my hypothesis, and I'm sticking to it until someone can convince me otherwise, or I get to heaven and find out differently.
That doesn't prove anything about the age of the earth, but it makes a lot more sense to me than what we're being fed by so-called scientists. I was shocked and delighted to learn that a professional geologist (a geologic engineer whose job it is to map underground caves and detect sources of oil in Missouri) believes in almost exactly the same hypothesis.

What does Pegleg the pirate have to do with this?
And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.

As you are using the term, doctrine is not salvific at all. Jesus saves, not correct knowledge of Jesus.
praise_yeshua said:rsc2a said:Not I. And you're little presuppositive box you want to shove people into falls apart just like that.
Very simple question. Even you should be able to answer.....
1. Do you believe other humans existed before this "adam" you say your believe was a single man?
2. Do you believe those bloodlines still exist today?
As you are using the term, doctrine is not salvific at all. Jesus saves, not correct knowledge of Jesus.
Then why do you claim I'm unorthodox? FSSL has clearly said that the lack of orthodoxy isn't salvific.
rsc2a said:Nope and nope.
Problems with logic?
praise_yeshua said:Are you really that dishonest?
Gap theorists don't believe in an evolutionary creation of Adam!!!!!
praise_yeshua said:rsc2a said:Nope and nope.
Then explain how man evolved into Adam?
No need for great detail just explain what is taught by evolutionary scientists and how it doesn't include humanoids prior to what survived to be called "Adam"?
Problems with logic?
Nope. You do. You say Jesus saves..... not orthodoxy.
Given this belief of you hold.... then why do you continually denying my position in Christ?

1. A humanoid among many humanoids?
2. Did the rest of the candidates die out?

I thought you said that Jesus saves and not an orthodox understanding. Why do you then point me to a list of standards?
Double minded men!!!!
rsc2a said:1 - A basic understanding of language would make that clear.

A list being indicative of change is not equal to that list being responsible for that change.
The fact that you reject this and other basic Christian teachings plus the fact that you portray none of the characteristic marks of a believer make me wonder. But determining your eternal fate is far above my pay grade.
I see it as the possible meaning, and yes, my mind races to think of how that all happened.aleshanee said:prophet said:Or, it was divided in Peleg's day...?

speaking of peleg......... ...... i;m thinking the bible was talking about peleg being around when the tower of babel thing happened........ that too was often described as a dividing of the earth..... or of the earths people.... ........ could it be possible that the separation of the continents ... which night have already begun after the flood.... was accelerated at that time?...... thus making it impossible.. (at least for a few millenia).... for the people God separated to join back up together?...... ???....
the possibilities of how things could have happened are endless...... and pretty fascinating to think about too in my opinion....... ... yeah i know..... many scientists will say that;s just letting ones imagination run away with them..... even when it;s backed up by a considerable measure of science too....... but then........ they seem to forget that when they stare into a pile of mismatched bones or at the rings of tree trunks.... and formulate a theory they will later have to revise or defend against the theories of other scientists staring at the same set of bones..... that;s exactly what they are doing too....... letting their imagination run away..... only without the benefit of faith and a historical document like genesis to guide their thoughts........... they call it hypothesis when they do it.......
but i have been there with some of them... during my college years... when they were putting their scientific minds to work mulling over bones...rocks and tree rings.......... and what i saw was imagination running at full steam............. .... if you really wanted to see them have a conniption all you had to do was wait until they finished their oratory summary and then begin with.. ... "or..it could be....... ".... ;D ........ they are worse than religious zealots when it comes to intolerance of opposite opinions........

1. I don't speak "rsca". Answer the question. A humanoid among many humanoids?
2. Why obviously? What candidates died?

Funny. I make YOU wonder. So you wouldn't dare question one of God's own but you'll sure "wonder" about it.
Typical liberal rhetoric. If might be in your "pay grade" you'll sure act like it is.....
