If you were the pastor of a church, would you forbid pictures, posters, or banners to be displayed in your church that have scripture verses from a version other than the KJV? What about bulletin covers with a verse from a non-KJV version?

I ask because my sister-in-law was told that she could not pass out a coloring sheet to her first grade class at VBS last week because the picture she found had a verse not from the KJV.

If you are going to hold a position you should hold it consistently. You may not agree with that position but you should agree with their desire to be consistent.

Um... no.
So be inconsistent?

Care more about what's right than man made tradition.  But you wouldn't understand such things.  It's your job not to.

If you truly believed that, then your options are clear.

First of all, talk to church leadership about the position. You will either come to agreement, or not. If you come to agreement, problem solved. If not, and in particular if it is a position held by the church as a whole, withdraw. What would not be appropriate would be to openly go against a clear teaching of the church.

Course you care more about being a Christian Rebel than an honest Christian. That's why you don't understand such things. You feel it's beneath you to.

How charitable of you....

Why do you "HONESTLY" feel someone should just go some where else if they disagree with you?

To a church that holds the same positions that in this case they do. I am missing the charitable reference. I caught the sacasm. Areyou sayin I was uncharitable towards trt or that my answer was uncharitable in the way to handle a positional disagreement?

Another difference without distinction.

Unless you are saying "In Essentials Unity, In Non-Essential Liberty, In all things Charity".

Not at all.  rsc2a is right on target.

Uniformity:

: the quality or state of being the same : the quality or state of being uniform or identical

Unity:

: the state of being in full agreement

You read what you posted right? In the context of the thread, they weren't in full agreement or they would have agreed. Seems simple enough. If they are in full agreement on the issue of the Bible they will be the same on the issue of the Bible. Seems they weren't in unity.

I guess we don't need Romans 14 or 1 Corinthians  because these deal with unity while not being agreement on the issue.

The "Only KJV" and "KJV Only" group has ZERO practical distinctions between them. Anyone in a teaching position in one of those churches is supposed to ONLY use the KJV.

KJVOs and Only KJVrs think they need to have the same text used throughout all church ministries. They say it is an issue of unity and there is no amount of debate that will get them to see that it is ONLY unity on a tradition.

RSC2A nailed it.

"The" Pastor?

Totally unbiblical. There is no "one man show" when it comes to running a church. No ONE Pastor. There is a group of men, all equal, who run the church.
Let's say there are 5 men who run this church.

He is 20% of the Leadership team

She is 100%, The Teacher of her class

The End

Uh oh.  You're in deep feces with some of the one-man-show pastors on here now.

Romans 14 is not relevant to a "which Bible" discussion. 1 Corinthians was a letter of reproof for all sorts of problems, not a letter of "lets all just get along".

And she is not accountable to the 5?

Don't you think church leadership has more important things to worry over than whatever bible version was used in a kids coloring book during VBS? Especially when there is a Teacher in that class who has been appointed to that position thus makes those decisions? This is beyond petty

Nope, choosing Bible versions is not petty if it in a church where they have an official choice in Bible versions. If it wasn't important to them, they wouldn't care, and the question would never have got asked. It is important to them, so it got asked. Just because it is not important to you does not mean it is not important to others. I run into all kinds of people to whom many things are not important. Meeting with other Christians is not important they say, they meet with God in the trees, and they can't see my big deal about "assembling" together. Others say the mode of baptism is not important, while others have things that are very important to them like no age segregated classes. Each of these bodies, assemblies, churches has the liberty to have those policies and to not have them contradicted within their assembly. The church in question has the liberty to have a policy on Bible versions.

You presume that to be appointed to a class means you have carte blanche authourity, the scriptures teach no such thing, the term bishop is not without meaning.

She is not a Bishop. It doesn't matter what is important to them, it matters what scripture says.

Neither does a BISHOP has the right to harass her, whether the church worships one bible version over the other or not. I could care less.

Bishop is a calling, not a paid position to be used to degrade the Teacher.

The version she used was quite appropriate for children, very understandable, we all know this.

Whether Bishop, Elder, Overseer, Pastor they have no right to harass the Teacher over petty stuff. That's abusing their calling.

Asking someone to abide by a stated policy is not harassment, that fact that you think it is shows your mind set. The Bishop is the overseer, administrator or "superintendent", that is very much his purview. You are implying he has no purview, a sort of Christian anarchy, not Biblical at all.

By your statement you must think Walmart hassles you for enforcing a dress code, and your employer harasses you when he asks you to show up for work on time, and your mom harassed you when she asked you to clean your room.
