Please look up the part of speech "as if" in conjunction with "they were" and perhaps your comprehension of my comment #21 will improve.

I refuse to believe that anyone argues what you claim until you quote someone arguing as you say they do. It's not hard to provide evidence of a fact so it shouldn't take you long to find an example of such an argument.
