Our Political Discourse.

I don’t know Nick personally, obviously. But I’d think he’s agree with all that.
Then it speaks volumes about how he defines "great". By that definition Satan is Tony the Tiger Grrrrrrreat!

yes....... and they are still out there... ..i;ve seen a lot of the homeless we minister to each week with them..... and also some people who are not homeless but still managed to qualify... ...it;s called the lifeline program.
I know there are people who genuinely need food stamps and phone assistance, I was just laughing because I remember a lot of people getting the “Obama phones” and they were driving new cars and wearing new Jordan shoes, and they weren’t even ashamed or embarrassed to admit it!

That’s how much we bought our first house for.
well... ... my sister bought her first house... or i should say bought into it with a plan and option to eventually own it outright -about 16 years ago..... it;s the apartment/condo we still live in.... and that i will probably always live in..... ....

i don;t want to get shot for telling you how old she is but she was still well under 30 when she bought it..... .. the company she works for had operated it as a tier one safe house - but had to downgrade it when industry standards changed..... .it;s still considered a safe house just not top security type.... ..and her company still owns a share in it..... her work office/base of operations is the office in the front center of the apartment behind the big elaborate double doors... (we all enter the house itself through a private side intrance)... ..

also not trying to brag or make you depressed but the value of this place at the time we moved in it was a few million....7 figures..... .. today it;s worth a lot more....well into the 8 figure range..... but you gotta remember this is honolulu hawaii... and that;s just how it is here.......... .

she and her husband together also own a condo/apartment in new york city..... .they were living there before her company bailed out of new york during the pandemic and floyd riots..... she has been back here ever since and he;s here when he is not out at sea or deplyed somewhere.... ...he;s a fairly high ranking navy officer... annapolis grad...... .. i don;t know how much their nyc property is worth but they rent it out now.....

yep.... and that kind of obama phone user is still out there too....... and they are still on the snap program.... but it;s not called food stamps anymore..... today they issue them a blue and gold debit card that says EBT on the front of it...... i don;t know how much money they have available to spend but the goverment automatically reloads it every month.......

Just wondering what I am missing. For instance, the Hindenburg fire was a great tragedy. Nothing in the use of great in that sentence is making a positive statement yet it is a perfectly valid use of the word. As for Satan, I consider him a great enemy. Power, size, influence, reputation, anger, endurance, and many other attributes (positive or negative) can be and often are amplified with the use of the word great. Great Falls Montana, the Great Depression, the Great Lakes and the Great Wall of China are additional examples.

There are a great many uses for the word, both positive and negative. 😉

We should be focused on the proclamation of the gospel and making disciples. I do not see Charlie Kirk as being a political pundit. I see him as a faithful brother in Christ who was martyred for the faith.

i agree..... in fact i;m busy with that every week for several hours... mostly earlly saturday morning... ... .. it;s 3 am now and i;ll be meeting with friends from church in a couple of hours...... ..to go out on the streets working with the increasing homeless population here........ ...... but your post seems to indicate nobody in this thread is doing that...... ...do you proclaim the gospel of Christ in every thread you get involved in here?.......... ...... should one of us follow you around on the forum and point it out every time you don;t?....

I do not see Charlie Kirk as being a political pundit. I see him as a faithful brother in Christ who was martyred for the faith.
and i agree with that as well...... he was not a pundit...... .. but like it or not you can;t pretend that a large part of charlie kirks message was political..... he believed... as many of us do - that at this point in history only one side of the political equation is supporting christians and christian values... . and that side is not the democrats.... ......in fact in recent years democrats have become ever increasingly hostile towards both christians and our values...... that hostility is what fueled the hatred in the man who murdered him.....

Not the same thing.

Hyperbolic against Trump, never for him, huh?

I’m just barely old enough to remember when most couples attempted to rent and put a little money aside each month in an attempt to buy their first house before age 40. And this was a time when couples got married much younger and had children much younger. At least that’s how I recall it being in my parent’s circles. The idea of a 25-year-old being entitled to home ownership would have been laughable not long ago.
entitled to home ownership Is not the disagreement. Affordability is the disagreement.

I voted for Trump both times.

Let me try this a different way.

Do you believe it’s beneficial for the average American that our tax dollars are going to Ukraine? In money and weapons.

Hold those thanks, I promise sub ain't agreeing with your alignment of Fuentes and his platform, lol.
You’d know better than I. But it was a good point and articulated much better then I could articulate.

I was referring more to the age. You said 25 years old. I’m pretty sure you know that already.

I’m not privy to national security reports, but since we’ve had both a Democratic and now Republican administration giving aid to Ukraine, maybe there’s something to it.

i don;t have time to retype everything i wrote about this before.... ...but many of the reports and official documents surrounding the agreements made between east and west at the end of the cold war were declassified a few years ago...... since then they have all disappeared from the internet - - i don;t know why but it;s not unusual in this new age of censorship and micromanaged freedoms..... .

but here is the gist........ and all the documents still posted on the thread i made about the war in ukraine are here in this quoted post....... when obama came to power he started tossing out careless statements to the effect that nato would be epanded to the east and eventually include ukraine....this was a clear violation of the agreement made in budapest when the soviet union disolved and east germany reunited with the west.... . putin had already made it clear eastward expansion of nato was not acceptable and that he would go to war to stop it............ obama kept running his mouth and the rest is history........

after putins attack on ukraine the fear became he would get the taste for blood and continue marching across europe into other countries as well....... both left and right in american politics agreed he had to be stopped.... the only question remaining was how to do it.....

putins statement... made this morning.....
note... video will not embed... but it can be watched by clicking on the link that says
watch on youtube.... in the big black and blank square below.....
:censored:

.
and what zelensky had to say on the matter.......

and some history as to why both sides in this conflict feel betrayed by the united states and NATO....
what the mainstream and left wing news media is simply parroting the propaganda of the biden
administration... which is following examples set by barak obama.. g-dubya bush.. and bill
clinton... they have all gone back of agreements and broken promises made to both
russian and ukraine during conferences discussing the re-unification of germany in 1990
and de-nulcearization of break away states after the fall of the soviet union in 1994
