Pastor Greg Locke Divorce

I'm not a fan of Mr. Locke, nor will I ever be...but I know him well enough and have as I stated, several friends and acquaintances who can verify that Mr. Locke and his current wife WERE NOT involved before his divorce. They were friends, and Taisha was his children's caregiver at times. As far as being a deadbeat dad, I don't really know. However, I do know that P&P isn't always a reliable source of information. They have a motive behind what they publish, and it's usually to defame someone. I don't defend Mr. Locke, but I don't appreciate lies about anyone, and these are clearly half-truths at best...no true sources named....

I concur.

I'm pretty sure that there's some posters here about to have she-bear encounters!

Careful there! Done been enough veiled threats of shootin' on the forum already!!!

The ONLY thing I would be shooting would be she-bear! That is if it were me you were speaking of! ;)

I've never heard of him before this, so I don't have any "dog in this fight"...
Having said that, I would say that the LAST place to expect truth about a person is from their divorced spouse. I would take anything the former Mrs Locke says about her former husband with several large grains of salt (and vice versa).
I do think it is highly suspicious that he remarried so soon after his wife left.
The child support issue should be pretty easy to verify... if it's true that he has remarried, but none of his children are at home, that's also a bad sign.

Living here, and having observed the Lockes in public and in church, I know that her word is honest. From the texts that came from Mr. Locke's phone and given in his divorce proceedings, etc., show that he has a filthy mouth, very abusive/bad attitude, and shouldn't be in a pulpit. Of course, SHE isn't an angel in this either. I can't say whether Mr. Locke had feelings for his new wife before he was divorced or not...but, if he felt romantically inclined, he should have admitted this and stepped away from the pulpit. All indications are that he DID have some degree of romantic intention towards her. As stated, I live here in the same area where the Locke's and the church are. My wife works just a couple of miles from the church. I have no dog in this fight either, but I do have integrity and sense enough to openly say that Mr. Locke shouldn't be in the pulpit. He is a brawler, stating and intending several times to fight street preachers in KY, and threatening and being verbally abusive towards anyone who disagrees with him...He doesn't fit the criterium for a pastor/elder.

As I noted, I'd never heard of them, but his actions seem more questionable. If only churches would care about the qualifications of a pastor!

Mr. Locke was an associate pastor a the Franklin Road Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN until 2000 when he left the church and took many members with him to start Global Vision BAPTIST Church (at that time.). We were at a sister Baptist church, and many of our members left to help him start his church...and it was HIS church, clearly...not the Lords. After backing away from convictions and Biblical teachings, he left the "Baptists" and became a Bible church. He continued to decline from there.
