Pastors: Interrupting your sermon

Such things happen all the time in fundamentalist circles. The average preacher fellowship involves various pastors bashing one another's doctrine. They just don't call one another's name.

If a pastor publicly disparaged Christ... I wouldn't have a problem either pointing out his issue or very publicly walking out. I've walked out of a couple services in my life while listening to the pastor in the back ground say.... " that's right. Run away. You can't take heat so get out the kitchen".

Unless the speaker is teaching/preaching heresy it would be inappropriate.

I just don't see it happening and I've never seen it happen and it's hard to comment on such a _ _ _ _ _ _ hypothetical.  Your pastor and you wouldn't invite someone to preach who would teach heresy. AND IF someone did "crept in unawares" more and likely you would just stop the dude and boot him out.

Lots of folk at First Baptist Hammond sat under The Divine Intimacy teaching and "Making God Sweat" without booting him. ;)

Well, until I'm a pastor (which may yet happen - I am interested in becoming a Lutheran (ELCA) pastor or Episcopal priest) I won't know for sure. But I like to think I'd handle it in a similar way to how I would on the forums.

The first part of my post was dealing with interrupting/challenging a preacher during his sermon. As far the 2nd part goes I was dealing with your quote. If they hired him then all bets are off. Of course they wouldn't boot him. I sure wish I knew that the mata was Castor. I would of let this one ride.

I will spare you any trouble and do likewise with your posts from now on. 

 
I have made mistakes while teaching and had people tactfully point it out during the lesson and afterwards.  Most of the time it is a slip of the tongue, placing the wrong person at the wrong place.  I have been challenged on doctrine privately and on the forum:).  I have had people in small group stop me and challenge my lesson with statements such as: "I just don't agree with that."  To me, this is good, because we are thinking as a group and having discussion - challenging each other to search out the Truth rather than rely on former teachings or opinion. 

I have walked out of services when I get too upset with the heresy being spoken.  I normally, when preaching or teaching, ask people to not take my word for it, but to rather study the Bible in accordance to what I say.  I use ALOT of Scripture in presenting lessons or sermons.  I often challenge people to come to me and discuss any perceived disagreement.  If we both are able to maintain a civil tone of discussion (though we might represent different views), and agree that the Bible is our only source by which to reach a conclusion, I am happy to discuss any area of perceived disagreement.  Such a culture usually prevents wild outbreaks.

Once in Jr. High at FBCH, we sang at a nursing home.  I forget what we were singing, but a lady started flailing her arms wildly and repeatedly screaming: HERESY!!!  HERESY!!!  HERESY!!!  We just kept on singing.

What does the law say about snoring, gum popping, and worse yet, joint cracking during a public service?
 
I see the law does not say anything about rocks, paper and scissors during the service.

Although in most churches I've visited, I'd think snoring would be the biggest problem.
