Evening meeting in Chicago at the International Amphitheater.
Built to host the International Live Stock Exhibition when Chicago was hog butcher to the world, the amphitheater was commissioned in 1934 by Frederick Henry Prince, then head of the Union Stock Yard and Transit Company.
Remember breathing in all the dung dust from the rodeo earlier in the week. I choke and get breathing spasms just thinking about it.
What were we thinking?
Didn't Jack Van Impe preach that night? I was a kid and can't remember for sure, but somehow that pops in my head.
Not that night. By then, we were in stark contrast to him. JVI was about a decade earlier.
I believe it was Curtis Hutson.
I think you guys are referring to a different time. The one I remember was when
I was a kid (guessing around '75 or '76) and the conference was held somewhere in Chicago. I remember it being a change-of-pace from the usual Civic Center (maybe it was unavailable that night).
I don't know, it is all foggy for me now.
This would have been right around the time the auditorium was being doubled in size. I believe there was a circus scheduled for that weekend and we had to vacate.
Here are some pics of the Chicago Stadium and a video. If you were a Bulls fan you watched them play there.
No none of these are from Pastors' School 1976 but they are of the stadium.
This is from 1930 and gives you an idea what the interior looked like in its early years.
One of Bro. Hyles favorites, he loved to tell the story about witnessing to Elvis, only reason Bro. Hyles didn't win him to the LORD, Evis was already saved, as a young person. Elvis was at Chicago Stadium many times in the 70s.
This video gives you an idea what the audio sounded like in a concert as opposed to a Bulls game.
Word has it that one of the reasons we went there was because of how good Elvis sounded in concert.

Here is another video to give you an idea of what it was like for various events.
I looked and looked and can't find the video from Pastors' School 1976.
The United Center has since replaced this building.

Well here is another one of Elvis in memory of Bro. Hyles.

Well these two are from 1972. Elvis came to Chicago often.
I am looking for more pics and maybe a video from this Pastors' School, there are piles of stuff to go through.
No Elvis was not a special guest, he just came to Chicago often and there is a lot of stuff from him.
