Political Correctness: the curious phrasing survives?

Progressives don't like it when they are called "political." YET this phrase survives. Why?

Global warming became climate change and now climate disruption.

Have you wondered why this phrase doesn't get modified? Or, am I out of the loop?

History, though they may not know it. Lenin coined the term. He had a theory that peer pressure could be harnessed to suppress dissent, saving the secret police a lot of work. Lenin was pretty smart.

I didn't say Lenin was a good guy, or that I endorse him in any way.  But it was Lenin, not Satan, who invented "political correctness", and deserves the credit or the blame for it.
