Hawaii is possibly going to be severely impacted by Hurricane Lala. Praying for our FFF friend and those in its way.

thank you... .. we are doing really well. .... .our building and especialy our apartment are very well suited for surviving huricanes... and we are very well supplied too... ... . .. but i do worry and pray for others around the islands who are not protected or as well provisioned... ..............
right now the hurricanes eye is passing over the southern tip of the big island and we are getting winds of around 24 to 30 mph and moderate rain.... .... in about 4 hours if it stays on it;s current projected path - it will be directly south of us and we will getting winds of around 35 to 40 and heavy wind driven rain until it moves on to the west... .. but it could turn north and makes things worse.... either way it;s expected to weaken from a cat 1 to a tropical storm before midnight.... .. we are just waiting it out to see what happens for now......

thank you to all who were praying for us... .. not long after i made that previous post the hurricane gained strength and turn north north west - directly at us... . .....but then it turned again to the west just before the outer and high - right side bands of hurricane force winds, would have brushed the south shore.. ..... that was a blessing... ...God spared us from what could have been a nightmare...... .. ...
no damage at all occured at our place but trees got downed here and there around the island ....and windows/doors got knocked loose and blown around in quite a few place. ... including the sliding glass door of one our neighbors.. it ended up shattered on the street 39 floors below... . but thankfully that was at the peak of the storm effects and nobody was down there.... ... .
electrical power was also knocked out in several places around the islands.. .. as transfer stations failed.... ...... but the islands main generators all remained working. . ........ there was only storm related death and that was due to a storm related car accident on the big island.... ... but i didn;t hear of any other injuries blamed on the storm.... .
there are some tourists that are actually happy about the hurricane... .. . all flights got cancelled both before and during the storm.... and getting them all rescheduled afterwards takes some time.... so they all got a few extra days in hawaii before having to fly home......
