"Being gay" isn't always a choice

Is being a murderer a choice?  Is being a thief a choice?  Is being a drunk a choice?

Will I lose my deadbeat status if I sing "Bang bang on the door" here?

You've got a fever..........and the only cure is more posting!!

Really? You are a mind reader? Not what I said. Not what I meant.
But I get it. You are defending your daughter but I am not attacking her. Or you for that matter.
I asked for scripture and you offered none to support your conclusion. I merely wrapped it all up in a concise statement.

I meant my last post in a light-hearted way; I apologize if I sounded rude or arrogant - that was not my intention.

There are no biblical arguments I can make that aren't easily accessible to anyone honestly researching the subject.  I didn't join this conversation so I could persuade someone to agree with me.  At best, I'd hoped someone - anyone (Bueller?!) - might acknowledge the possibility that they aren't all-knowing and infallible.  That's the subject that intrigues me (much more than the subject of homosexuality!)

And, lest it seems like I'm implying I have all sorts of sound Bible references and translations and super-duper original text insights- I don't.  I'm not a scholar, just a Christian.  A Christian that walked away from all aspects of God & church for many years because I did not - could not - believe all the things I was taught as a child.  If I believed we all had to agree on ANY subject, I never would've opened my heart back up to matters of faith.

I believe in living the love of God, and I believe that the miracle of the Bible isn't found in translations and exegesis; the miracle is that God can use those pages to speak to ME, His child, and provide ME with the strength and grace I need to get through each day.  I'm sure that sounds like a load of feel-good heresy to all the scholarly-types who have everything all figured out.  But, I have full confidence in my relationship with God and am so grateful He showed me a path back to Him - even if it's one nobody else understands or agrees with.

Wishing you all a good evening.  It's almost time for Master Chef!

So it appears you did not attend HAC or First Baptist.  So what made you post in the HAC forum?

I was attended FBC/HB, but chose to leave the area rather than attend HAC.  I've stated that in the past & was under the impression it was ok to post  here - I'm sure someone will let me know if that's not the case.

No forum police will come to your door.  It's safe.

You keep her attention out front while I storm the back entrance!  ;D

That is not the HACker way. You need to bug her house and run the wires to Hammond!

Luckily, y'all don't know where I live (and  surely the family-sized Bible, Hyles coffee mug & "Praise the Lord" voicemail message won't give me away!)  :D

SC gave two Biblical arguments someone might use to support homosexual activity (a different perspective on Romans 1 and Jesus's words concerning eunuchs )
So far, the only responses to these arguments have been "Nuh-uh" or "that's stupid".
If that's our only defense, no wonder people view it as a "gray area". Can no one convincingly refute either of these arguments?

The point of Romans 1 isn't sex but idolatry. Even so, the prohibition is on same-sex sex. It doesn't say "except for this!"

Eunuchs, by definition, don't have sex so it's kind of a moot point. If you want to argue that it's a case for homosexual orientation at birth and a place for those people within the Kingdom (not married and celibate), then I'll agree. Still no basis for same-sex sex.

What are your feelings and thoughts?

I don't spend a lot of time on the social media, so wasn't aware of the volume of comments this issue had generated. My daughter-in-law came across this blog and reposted it on her Facebook page. When I read it I thought it was valuable enough to share here.

Just for interest sake, did your pastor mention anything about the Supreme Court decision in his sermon last Sunday or this Sunday?

Our pastor just played a CD entitled, "The Supremes Greatest Hits".  I think he was confused.

There was, and still may be, a rule against allowing anyone in a homosexual relationship to donate blood.  Is this still the case?  If so, how long will it be before they cry. "discrimination"?

Will travelers cry "discrimination" because one just came back from being overseas and cannot donate? It is required one must be state-side for a certain amount of time before donating blood.

That is an eye-opening article.

In answer to your question, I have not heard any travelers protesting.  I'm sure the majority of them realize it is for the safety of Americans.  On the other hand, the article you posted shows the mindset of the homosexual community.
