Well, I guess I shouldn’t feel any regret over the one time I voted for a Democrat in a presidential election (Obama v Romney).
I took a clothes pin to the polls that time. We wouldn't have done much better with Romney. There would have been too much bending under pressure. Was much happier to have had McCain in '08.
So far there are three moderate to left leaning candidates who have announced or are contemplating an Independent run:
Cornel West
RFK Jr.
Manchin
The latter two may pull from GOP Never Trumpers, but overall as of right now I see more pull away from Biden.

I used to read some of Dr. Cornel’s books, and I like the guy, but he makes Biden look like Rush Limbaugh in some ways. I like RFK, but I also know he has no chance. Manchin is an interesting player, I didn’t know he was even running.
Manchin hasn't announced but says he will be doing one of those tours listening to people. That's political code for "I'm not running yet, but I will."
Good. Here's hoping he splits the Dems.
