Sigh

Are police allowed to pull over motorists without a probable cause?
No…but understand that even driving one mph over the speed limit is technically breaking the law, as such, you can be pulled over and have your DL scanned. 😬

Is that common where you live? Ten over on the highway is pretty much a given in Michigan.

Construction sites. This is my domain.

Good thing they are being raided...
.... working for far less than prevailing wages (slavery level)
... poor workmanship
... drug culture on sites
Now I am curious. Do you have a plan on how you will handle yourself during a raid should you happen to be on site when ICE rolls in?

BTW your first point on the list is the crux of the matter in my opinion. Where are the arrests of the people who employ illegal immigrants? Temp services are often used by employers to tap into that resource while allowing them plausible deniability.

Also why does the IRS and SSA accept "taxes" from multiple people using the same SSN? Shouldn't those conflicts cause an immediate investigation?

As far as I can tell, the system is broken by design.

ICE is targeting known child rapists... murderers and othe high crime illegals. Over 40 of them were swept up in our city.

Those who came over and are not legal shoildnstay away from these individuals if they want to keep hiding.

Asking for ID is NOT a social ill. It is the only proper way to VET those who should have been vetted and never were.

I don't mind a cop asking for my ID if I am in a sanctuary city floating around with groups of people during a raid.

Yep. Stay put, let ICE do their job and stay out of the way. I'm definitely not running away from the good guys.

Contractors/companies are engaging in modern-day slavery with their low wages. They are fined heavily.

If a police officer really wants to interrogate you, s/he will find a reason, even if it’s driving one mph over the speed limit. If you ever go rob a bank and then safely drive away from town, you can test my theory. You don’t rob banks, do you?

The heavy fines should be jail time.

Switching lanes without signaling.
Failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign, or at a red light before turning right.
Any light not working.
Smokey exhaust.
License plates inappropriately displayed,
No inspection sticker
etc.

The point is, there is no one not breaking the law on the road.

I once received a citation for driving 37 in a 35 zone
It depends on if law enforcement are conducting "emphasis patrols". A Washington State trooper pulled me over for doing 63 in a 55. Gave me a written warning. Some years later, a Garfield County (WA) deputy flat told me they were running emphasis patrol with zero tolerance on that particular weekend (Easter weekend). I was doing 68 in a 60. But he was only going to write me up for five over so my fine would be reduced.

I know a former Michigan State Trooper. He said that unless you were way over the limit he was going to give you a warning. He enjoyed the opportunity to get out of the car on a nice day and stretch his legs. 🙂

On the other hand, if it was raining you were getting a ticket for making him get out of the car and messing up the shine on his shoes. 🤭

My daughter is a cop in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Sublibrm... the same daughter you met.

We invited her to meet us at Waffle House. On our way there, I didnt come to a complete stop. She pulled me over and said, "Dad! We have talked about this!"

She treated me EXACTLY like any one else. Although we still can't stop laughing about it!

You have plenty of reasons to be proud of your family.

BTW you could have played the Michigan card. That's how everyone "stops" up here! You just haven't been able to break the habit yet 😉

The little brat was raised mostly in Alabama and does not have that Michigan driving concept! :)
And then I bought her breakfast and people around us were talking about this little girl pulling her dad over!

If they want to pull you over, or do something to make you appear to be resisting, they can. And they do.
