Was Heartland on good terms with Hyles-Schaap?

Sam Davison considered Jack Schaap a heretic and refused to preach on the same platform with him.

Actually Tommy Boy also considered him a heretic, along with many other Pastor's after Schaap wrote a piece stating the KJV is not the only authorized version of the Bible. This upset many KJV only pastors around the country.

I think for many it started with the perverted Lord's Supper/sex sermon.

That could be. I just never heard much about Schaap until he denounced the KJV as the only authorized version of the Bible. I wasn't aware of the sex sermon until he was charged with having sex with a minor.

The sex sermon is different than the Lord's Supper sermon, isn't it.

The Lord's supper was long before the "Polished Shaft" sermon which is what I am thinking is the sex sermon.

It don't matter as he is a sick man and is in the place he needs to be, PRISON!!!

That I don't know the Polished Shaft was what I was thinking was the sex sermon. I have not heard his Lord's Supper sermon.

Maybe now he can enjoy "infidelity" in his "prison ministry".

Well now it makes me wonder what Tommy V thinks of Jack Hyles now. The elder Vineyard was a close confidant of Hyles and what did Tommy think of "The Pope" ?

If you are curious to know what Tom Vineyard thinks, why don't you just ask him?...Oh wait, you can't because he is on vacation.  ;)

It wouldn't surprise me if AlvinMartenizVoice is Tommy Boy. He displays the same level of intelligence with his comments.

True that!!  One thing I know for sure is that Tommy Boy monitors this site personally.  He most likely has Bro. Van Manen also monitoring it because he will not admit to monitoring it himself.  But Tommy has followed, posted and took notes of this site since baclk in the JAV/FFF war days.

Van Manen couldn't hold a candle to Alvin Martinez in music and Jimmy V himself would agree but that's another story.

The big question is will WHBC still be around in 2015-2016?

Those days are what it took for me to open my eyes to the corruption at WHBC/OBC. I was never a member there but I attended the missions conference a time or two. I remember a Fundamentalist Conference that I attended as well. That would have been 25 years ago or better.

It was the beginning for our family also.  Took a couple years but it started the ball rolling.  We, unfortunately, were deeply involved in the place though.

But today we are FREE!!!!!!!!!! from the man made rules and minipulation of men like JAV.

That's too bad but at least you eventually woke up. Fortunately our church has not been back to a youth conference or sent anymore students their way.

I am very glad to hear that your church was wise enough to leave the place alone.  I watched over the years as fewer and fewer churches sent their kids to the youth conference.  It peaked in attendence around the year 2000 and started to tank after that.  Same with OBC as around 2001 or 2002 was their highest attendance years.  Of course, right after that the JAV sex scandal hit and it was a fast track down to maybe 8 students this year.  If the college is even open.  Which I hope it is not.

Was it not the elder Vineyard who quotably stated "Jack Hyles is the biggest liar I know."

The church did start to decline around 2000 or so, the decline picked up some are 9-11-2001 which was when politics started being preached more than the Bible.

Then when Tommy boy took over the decline greatly escalated. Within the first year about 30% or so left the church one at a time, politics became the major inspiration of all his extremely boring messages, the college enrollment dropped. There was one Sunday school class that the staff member who was fired, rehired, and decided to leave all in the same day had built up to around 70 adults. Tommy boy hand picked one of his favorites and the class dropped to around 20 people in a month.

The church was in a state of decline prior to Tommy boy taking over but when he did it greatly escalated.
