kaba said:The last year of school, I was a married student. My husband worked two jobs. Left about 5 in the morning for Chicago for a brinks job, and then when he was done, he would go to UPS for his other job, and get home about 10 or 11. I had to catch a ride to school, and normally I did not have a dollar for lunch, I would sit in the foyer until my ride was ready to go home about 3:00. I remember sitting there hungry most days.
This is a sad situation so I am by no means downplaying what happened to you.
My daughter attends University of North Carolina Charlotte and in the fall semester, they had to open a food pantry for students who could not afford meal plans. So hungry students is still happening today, even in the state-funded schools.
