Soul Winning

Thanks for the good reply. I came to know Christ as my Saviour while in the Navy. There was a Christian in my squadron who caught my attention by the way he lived. He had something that I did not have. I was searching for something to fill the emptiness that I felt. He started inviting me to church services where the Gospel was preached, and I received Christ as my Saviour. It was my relationship to him that brought me to Christ. I guess the point of my post was, is it better to establish relationships with people to help them come to receive Christ, rather than knocking on the doors of people who know nothing about you.? Thanks, christundivided, for the good points you make in your post.

I couldn't agree more!!!!

I started going to church with a family in my area that showed compassion for me. I meet them through someone I considered a friend at the time. He was a very bad influence. A bad Christian to boot. I certainly wasn't any better. The love and concern this family showed me.... .made me stop and consider what I heard preached. Though.... I had long known what I needed to do.

I think Jesus made a big deal about soul winning. Read the Bible dude.

When you are of age, God will lead people across your path, or you across theirs,  who He knows are ready to be born again.

You won't be able to get away from it.

Testimony.  I talked to a young Artist recently, early 20's, and The Spirit had me tell him to read Ecclesiastes.

He came back to me later, saying "how did you know?".
And shortly thereafter, spoke to an evangelist ( one with the gift, not some big-mouthed mooch), and trusted Christ.
He now works with me daily, and praises the Lord regularly, that God knew to tell me to tell him to read Ecclesiastes.
I had no idea he was suicidal, in a depression for months.
I wasn't looking for him, and when I enquired about his salvation, God told me to point him to a "strange place".

You cant help but be part of the plant-water-increase process, when you are of age, and your teeth are sharp.

This is another pix of our ministry to a local housing project. When we started there last winter, we went door to door to introduce ourselves and our ministry. We didn't receive a very warm welcome and almost no participation. After a few months of being there regularly and this summer offering a week day lunch, we have been overwhelmed with participation...from the kids and their parents, mostly single mothers and grandmothers. We plan to start a morning ladies  class this fall which will include, but not be an exclusive Bible study.

It takes time to build a relationship in order to get a hearing...in order to effectively share Christ...which is our ultimate goal.
