SOUTH CAROLINA WOMAN DIES AFTER ALLIGATOR ATTACK NEAR GOLF COURSE LAGOON

I grew up swimming in waters with sharks, alligators, and sometimes both (brackish water). I’m still alive and use common sense when in their habitat. Now, on the other hand, water moccasins, I keep a VERY healthy respect for!

I have a small shed about 50 yards from my house. While looking for something in it late in the evening about a week ago I found some fishing gear on the floor and put it back up on one of the shelves. It was pretty dark at the time, and I didn’t pay much attention, but I yanked my hand back as soon as I set the gear down because there was a snake about 4 inches from my hand just staring at me. That could’ve been a bad day if it would’ve been a copperhead and decided I had got ten too close.😳

Out here in the West, people build in the canyons. Thie first thing that moves in is the rodents. My brother used to chuckle at the people complaining about the rodents, saying, "That's ok... The rattlesnakes will come in and take care of them..."

I have a similar type shed on my property. I live right on the edge of a lake, so I’m ashamed to admit I’m like a scared kid every time I enter that shed because I know there are snakes around. I haven’t actually seen one in there yet, but I’ve found the skin sheddings enough times to know they’re in the area. I think they’re teasing me 😏

Yep, I had seen scores of sheddings galore so should have been more alert, but at least I now have a ready-made autobiographical sermon illustration.😁

Alligator must have been fed.... and mating season is not done.

My son killed a wild hog, coyote (dog cornered it in the middle of the night) and a snake, all last week, on his property.

Rocker Ted Nugent once said he doesn't have a coyote problem on his property. "The coyotes have a Ted problem."
