I love spicy food.

I make my Chili with 4 habaneros (seeds and ribs included), 6 serranos (seeds and ribs included) and 6 jalapenos (seeds and ribs removed.  It's just the right amount of heat.

Sounds Right.
Last time we used 14 habaneros, and that was perfect.

This week we had Spag. Squash spaghetti.

Instead of pasta noodles, the baked squash is the nest that holds the sauce.

Hi acidity tomatoes is the key, to counter the squash's richness.

Sauteed green bellpeppers, onion, and mushroom, in olive oil, then crisped the chix breast in the mix.
Add some quality mozz., and parmesan.
Fresh basil sprigs for garnish.

Then there's the morning after, when you put the leftovers in an omelette.

Wow!!  14 habaneros?  Did you remove the seeds and ribs first?  I'm getting used to very hot food but I don't think I could handle 14 habaneros with seeds and ribs included.

To be fair, The pot of Chile was for a potluck, so it was 30- person size.

I'm a "mild to medium" girl on the fire of a dish, but the ones presented do look appetizing!  I'm not sure I could tolerate a full plate of the habanero recipes, but I'd be willing to give them a try...with a milk chaser.  ;)

I'm most intrigued by aleshanee's spaghetti with browned butter and mizithra cheese.  That sounds like something I would really enjoy.

I love spaghetti and I make it low fat with a mixture of meat lowfat hamburger/turkey/mild turkey sausage. I use lots of spices and I also use different pastas.....let's eat!!

I used to be like that.  Just a few drops of Sriracha would make me sweat and be very uncomfortable.  I started eating spicy food more often and now I can drown food in Sriracha and hardly tell it's hot.  The more you eat spicy food (the Capsaicin kind that comes from hot peppers), the more of a tolerance you build up.

That's why you can buy Capsaicin cream for pain spots like tennis elbow or repetitive stress.  With regular use, it dulls the sensitivity of the nerves and you don't feel the pain.  But if anyone touches you there (and gets even the slightest bit of cream on their finger) and then touches their eye or any other sensitive spot on their body, it's murder for them.

Yes, aleshanee's spaghetti sound fabulous.

I love Italian Dressing on mine. If we are out of that, Rice Vinegar does real well.

Close to what I often like.  I drizzle extra virgin olive oil, add fresh finely diced garlic, salt, and Parmesan cheese.  Love that combo.  Next time, I'll try adding some vinegar.

I love spaghetti, so this is a good subject! I like the ragu sauce and then add to it to make my own taste. I also brown hamburger with fresh garlic and onions, and add that to the sauce. Then you put the spaghetti down first then the sauce/meat mixture then lots of cheese!!

Cincinnati chili is good. Green Bay, Wis has a great restaurant called chili Johns! Havent gone in years, but I dream about it!! you can order the meat sauce it normal, mild, hot and hotter! I think I need to take a road trip to Wisconsin soon!! Been hungry for some fresh cheese too!!

That's hilarious!  I'll have to use it if I ever run into situations like that.

A favorite of my children's is, making homemade noodles and mixing with tomato juice, along with salt and pepper. Just had it this week! Goes fast and I have no leftovers!!

Yes, except publix brand. I grew up eating it, and loved it, so always made it for my kids. My friends said they are not really noodles because it is just flour, eggs, salt and water...she said it is a biscuit recipe. But in my old cook book it says homemade noodles!!

Too Funny Aleshanee! I have thought about getting one, but then I would have to make the noodles more often!! I only make the noodles when the husband isnt home, he doesnt need the carbs!!

Spaghetti is my favorite!

That part of elf grosses me out! Could not handle syrup with spaghetti!!

I begged for a bread maker. Finally got one. But rarely used it. And it has gone "missing".
