Standards of dress

Yes and I think we sisters can all agree that the men who walk around with their pants falling down and their 'vertical smile' visible are likewise tempting us pretty sorely as well.

It is SO hard to keep the mind out of the gutter with all of this eye candy on display.

Hot times with the plumber. The number one fantasy of ANY woman!  ;)

You crack me up!

FTR, :-) If a woman stood in front of me in a string bikini at the beach I would have no problem keeping my mind on Christ for I am to look at her as a sister in Christ.

1. I couldn't. I'll be man enough to admit it.  8)

2. I don't believe you could either.  :o

Yes, men are pigs and you speak the truth!

Trained by their culture to see a food delivery system as only an object of sexual curiosity and arousal.

Yes, fueled by the constant dropping of dress standards on females.

Which is fueled by the constant demand of men to see just a little more.

Some people have a problem with gluttony so no one should eat cake.

Some people have a problem with pride so we should never give out trophies.

Some people have a problem with greed so we should never buy a nice car.

Some people have a problem with sloth so we should never take a weekend nap.

Two women who are twins walked by a group of unGodly men, equally and modestly dressed. One is a an attractive blonde, the other an attractive brunette. Which will stir temptation in these men?

Well those who prefer blondes will lust after the blonde. Same for the brunette. Those who prefer redheads will look the other way.

"...the eyes of man are never satisfied." (Pro. 27:20)

Men are men and could lust even after the most modest ladies. In fact, some are far more attracted to modest ladies than immodest. However, the fact that men have lustful hearts does in no way negate a woman's responsibility to dress modestly.

Yes they should dress appropriate for the occasion with works that match.

.....said the Victoria's Secret model who helped at the soup kitchen on Saturday.

How did you know where I was????????????????????????????????????????

In the jungle the men don't sit around ogling the constantly exposed breasts. So your ANY man test fails.

I disagree. I think the ANY man statement is valid. Most men lust after what is covered up on a woman more than on what is uncovered. Even in the jungle men lust. IMHO, of course.

Then you should have no issue with women wearing bikinis while at the park. :)

So then you are for less clothes on women :)

"...it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me." (Rom. 7:17)  ;)

I know you are speaking in jest here; but, for those who may have asked the same question, my point was that even if a woman's top half is bare, a man is likely to still lust after this woman because of the part of her that is covered. He lusts after the woman as a whole, but the part of her that he can only imagine is the catalyst for this lust. Again, just MHO.

Nekkid is the solution then.

If anyone on here believes that if ANY man that had a woman sitting in front of them with their boobs hanging out and that man would have to on PURPOSE fight not to LOOK. your wrong. And lying. Or is not a man therefore wouldn't understand.
What an Ameri-centric view...

Correct.

No it's called human nature.

Too bad we don't have any greater power within us but we must treat every women like our own sex objects.

No that would be wrong to do that.

But if she is sitting in front of you like I described above then their might be some intentional not looking.

Cultural issue. In the jungle the men don't sit around ogling the constantly exposed breasts. So your ANY man test fails.

And I'm sure when these men are in the field........the subject never ever comes up.

Look  :)(no pun intended) I never said that if that woman would be sitting in front of the man that there would be LUST going on, my point is that a christian man would have to on purpose not look, therefore there is a resistance, why because there is a NATURAL pull.

Any woman can tell you, there are men who seem to think that the eyes of we ladies are located a few inches below our necks...there was one revered deacon at FBC here who, whenever he spoke to me, had his eyes glued on "the girls" when I was, I assure you, 100% covered up.

The perverse person inside me wanted to confront his boorish lasciviousness by asking if he'd like a closer look.

But, instead, I smiled sweetly and pretended not to notice where his eyes are resting as he speaks with me.

So yes, there are piggish men who (try to or like to think that they) pass for saintly Christians. Whited sepulchers. This is what makes women angry. We can be doing absolutely nothing wrong and you still find a way to objectify us.

Why did you let the pig do that repeatedly? Particularly when he was a leader in the church. There would be nothing perverse for you to call him out on it.

And you prove what has been said, the responsibility falls to the sinner to stop sinning, not to the object of their sin.

You should have told your husband.

Proverbs 7:10: Behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.
Subtil of heart meaning she was out to entice him....cause him to lust.

So, of course a woman's attire can be immodest with the intent to cause lust....and of course cultural norms do have a bearing on what the attire of a harlot would be.

And of course some men are coarse, crude and immoral, no matter how a woman might dress. Thankfully, not all men are like that...but, apart from eunuchs, we all deal with the problem.
Hard to believe any of that is controversial.

My apologies.

In my defense, it is becoming harder and harder to tell who's joking and who's not.  :)

So, is it a sin for a lady to wear pants or NOT?  :D

The responsibility would be shared if she had been immodestly dressed.
