Statement from Bill Gothard

He that findeth a wife findeth a good thing & he should have. What he got instead was a feeling at the expense of young women's (& trusting parents) disillusioned feelings. This is not his 1st unwise move with his bigger than life legalistic ministry movement.

I for one decided long ago that I am finished following men, movements and magazines in ministry endeavors.

Bill Gothard's statement about his ministry could apply to many churches as well. Just substitute the word institute with any ministry & see if the description fits.

"I put the Institute and its goals ahead of people and their needs. Standards became more important than relationships. People who didn’t “measure up” were cut off and those who were not seen as adding value to the ministry were treated as though they were expendable".

If the words are followed by actions great.

Improperly touching women's feet?  What is THAT about?    ???
