Everyone remember three or so years ago when Fetterman was running for office and everyone thought he was an addlepated lunatic thanks to his stroke?

Turns out, once he was in his right mind again, he was a mainstream, normal liberal. Too normal for the present Demoratic Party.

And, as is the nature of our politics, those on the right who criticized him are now praising him for his candor. Our politics could use more people with his willingness to be truthful even when it departs the party line.

He's the Democrat version of MTG. TDS has infected both parties. It's a loyalty test. The normal mainstream mind is unacceptable to those with TDS because they either don't hate Trump enough or don't love him enough. Either way, your position will not be evaluated or debated on its merit but by how it aligns with the currently accepted or rejected Trump actions.

Now that I think about it, a case could be made that the is also a condition that could be called Israel Derangement Syndrome. At least to me that there is some evidence of it playing out here. And again, in both directions.

We are living out Animal Farm, with crib sheets containing 1984 style Orwellian talking points.

Yeah, it's that bad. On both extremes.

The two ends of the spectrum should be willing and able to debate the differences in a mature, respectful manner. It appears that Fetterman can. I'm not sure about Carville.

Carville, who ran Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign, has been married to George H. W. Bush's campaign director Mary Matalin for 30+ years. I suspect that, despite his abrasive public personality, he's had years to hone the "mature, respectful differences."

Carville is a liberal but definitely a "Voice of Reason" that the Democrats ought to be listening to if they hope to have any relevance in the future.
