Tennessee Temple University, which announced plans on Sunday to discuss the possibilities of a move to the campus of Woodland Park Baptist Church in Tyner, will list almost its entire campus in Highland Park — more than 21 acres of property — for sale.

The land, including 470,000 square feet of improved structures, will be listed by Herman Waldorff Commercial Real Estate for $19.6 million.

Waldorff recently brokered the sale of the former Highland Park Baptist Church buildings, including seven acres and more than 105,000 square feet of improved structures, to Redemption Point Church. The firm also leased, then sold the former Tennessee Temple Academy building to the Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy.

Listing agent Benjamin Pitts said there are a variety of potential uses for the property and that Tennessee Temple University was open to all options.

Dr. Steve Echols, president of the university, told students today of plans for listing the property but said it was just "a toe in the water" concerning what the school might do in the future.

Does Highland Park Baptist Church ( the old name) have any official connection with the school now? Do you have any news about how the church is doing at their new location?

Not to my knowledge. Graduation last May, took place at Brainerd Baptist Church. However, I believe students are welcome to drive to Camp Joy and participate. TTU has a campus church, and use St. Andrews for chapel and maybe on Sundays too.
