These are the guys that want the Bible so much they would steal for it. Do you think they are IFBx pastors?

$500 worth of King James Bibles in a modern Bible bookstore? Probably not. Perhaps a mix of NIVs ESVs and the Woman's Life Bible of Serendipitous Thoughts

I'm sure it's for our own good! They're probably looking out for us by taking all the NIVs and ESVs so we don't buy Satan's Bibles by mistake. ;)

BTW: sorry for being so active on this forum :(

The bible may have a higher street value than many drugs. It's all about the money.

55% of the Bibles read are still KJV, sales not so much.

The data shows Christian book stores sold more units of "The Voice" Bible than even the KJV.

Can someone tell me more about "The Voice".

Isn't that a singing competition show that airs on NBC?

Surprised that "The Message" didn't make either list -- it was "the" thing a  few years ago.

My wife gave me a copy of The Message as a Christmas gift quite a few years ago. I tried reading it, I really did, but just couldn't do it. In all the years I've been a Christian and have been reading the Bible, that version was the only one I ever considered tossing in the trash. I didn't, but I sure gave it a lot of thought. Not sure whatever became of it. It just kind of disappeared off of our bookshelf.

For me, I use it as a commentary so if there is a passage I am studying, I will use it as an alternative reference. It does help clarify some passages or tweak traditional thought of interpretation. But like you, I struggle to read it as being Scripture.

Remember the God Breathed words are in Hebrew and Greek.

All translations are interpretations.

Just like the TV show.  One or two passages that are liked are kept in efforts to defeat all other people with a different view.  The rest of the passages are thrown away.

Must be the favorite of FFF members.  ;D

I remember the first time I ran across a quote from The Message.  I can normally recognize a quote from various Bible versions, but the one from The Message was so bizarre I didn't recognize it.
