Surprised that "The Message" didn't make either list -- it was "the" thing a few years ago.
My wife gave me a copy of The Message as a Christmas gift quite a few years ago. I tried reading it, I really did, but just couldn't do it. In all the years I've been a Christian and have been reading the Bible, that version was the only one I ever considered tossing in the trash. I didn't, but I sure gave it a lot of thought. Not sure whatever became of it. It just kind of disappeared off of our bookshelf.
