He's not making you do anything....

Too many people are afraid of weakness. Weakness is where you find true strength.

Brokenness is essential to work of God. Paul was given a problem by the devil. Something God, Himself, refused to remove. God didn't intervene because he knew Paul. He knew Paul needed it.

I'm not saying this what you're experiencing. What I am saying.... is weakness is an opportunity. An opportunity for grow. An opportunity for the power of God. Its just one voice away. Sincerity goes a long way with God. Sincerity in realizing you can't do it without Him. That'll get you further than spinning your wheels in the endless ditch of pity.

Yeah... that always works better than Jesus....

Bo... don't sit there waiting for Jesus to talk to you. He already has in His word. Have a pastor, show you from 2 Peter how you are able to handle ANYthing that comes your way!

Take hope: "His divine power has given us everything we need..."

Like Peter, a good pastor can: "Always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have..."

Further: " But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. 11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives"

You're failing rather badly at this. Jesus said He would answer all of those who call upon his name. He didn't say it would come from anyone else. I talk to Jesus. He comforts me. Gives me peace I can genuinely feel. He said "I will come unto you".

I didn't read that in 2 Peter.

He already has in His word. Have a pastor, show you from 2 Peter how you are able to handle ANYthing that comes your way!

Paul talked about that too....

Rom 8:37  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Rom 8:38  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Rom 8:39  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord

Like Peter, a good pastor can: "Always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have..."

Anyone can remind him. Which is what I was trying to do. Maybe you missed that...

Further: " But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. 11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? Yeah. Sorta like "Sodom and... .what was that other city....."

You can find that in Revelation. Hebrews. Deuteronomy. Joel. Daniel and some others...

Not true.  You're not qualified.  Only the pope priest pastor is qualified.

Apparently!! He quoted lying' "apostle" Paul!

When Moses' hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up--one on one side, one on the other--so that his hands remained steady till sunset.
Exodus 17:12

Don't do this alone. Get on your knees and bring this to the Lord with a friend.

Tim....

You feel for one of those gimmicky messages.

How about...

Php 4:6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Php 4:7  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

There's nothing wrong with praying with a friend or as a group but Jesus said to enter into your closet alone.

I'm just making the point.... that entirely too often we make "people the solution" and not "God". Sooner or later..... its going to be just you and Him. Its not a matter of if..... but a matter of when...

I've seen people seemingly.... endlessly..... pray.... time and time again..... with group after group after group over the same things....... They enjoyed the comfort of others to the point they didn't want to go without it.

We all have direct access. Direct access. Direct comfort. Direct peace.

I'll pray with and for anyone but I'm not the solution...... I just try to get out of the way.

Amen!...also Bo, another good word from II Peter:

"......be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other ""scriptures"", unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. "
