“The goal wasn’t to feel God, but to know him, proclaim him, and glorify him. These were not love songs to Jesus. They were proclamations of his greatness and his grace. Feeling close to God became more important than doctrinal clarity or reverent fear.”
This lady gives a history of how church music has changed and how it was influenced by the emotional Pentecostal music at the expense of doctrine. I’m sure many will disagree with this but at least it shows there are two sides to what is going on in modern Christian music.
