The last time I attended a service at FBCH

I am assuming many of these dates are you graduation year.

You people are old!

Jack Schaaps infamous "What Mom and Dad don't know will hurt him"... Or as I like to call it "Jacks confession"

Took a min of searching but I found it.....

Listen if you can stomach it.... I heard the whole thing I would have left during it had I drove y own car that night. I was trapped with the person I was with, and they looked just as shocked.

I was there! I was as shocked as anyone and this is what finally did me in. Also, it was not just because he was a lunatic, it was because when I was walking out I saw all of the people going forward to the altar and I said to myself, "Something wrong here with these people."

Sometime during the summer of 2014.....we found a church closer to where we live now. But we might go back and visit next Sunday. ?

There is a wonderful church out in Valpo called Valley Baptist. If you are near by I would suggest checking them out. He actually uses scripture to back what he is saying (and don't take it out of context eg, Jacks definition of "laid"). I really like the place, but I need a kick in the behind because I have been slacking.  Maybe I should join because not being a "member" I tend to slack off on going to church.
I like how they also nurture the new converts, I really should take advantage of some of the things they do. I was saved using the 1 2 3 repeat after me, 4 5 6 I hope it sticks.  I was all gung ho when I was first saved, and that has mellowed into luke warm..... I don't even know how to pray correctly!! I still try to keep the passion I had after being first saved but like with anything if it's starved it will dwindle to nothing and eventually die, which I don't want to happen again.

And if JS wouldn't have gotten caught.  Many ppl would still be singing his praises and shout amen to this crap.

When was the last time you attended a service at FBCH?  Who was the preacher and/or what was the circumstance?

My wife and I visited there two weeks ago (June 7th). We went with my sister and her husband to Sunday school and then the AM service. The Sunday school class was called "Greater Vision Adult Bible Class" taught by Mark Duff. They had breakfast items and coffee before class. The people were very friendly and we enjoyed the lesson very much.

We walked across to the main auditorium. This was my first time at FBCH since 1981; so, it was my first time in the new auditorium. My first impression of the place was, "this doesn't feel the same at all." I can't really explain it but, it didn't have the "big church" feel to it anymore.

We sat where my sister and brother-in-law normally sit - closer to the back - but could still see everything very well. The auditorium was over half filled. Several people came over to greet us. We were introduced during the visitor introductions and made to feel very welcome. It was good to see my long-time friend, Mark Flesher, leading the orchestra. He came over to say hello during the hand shaking time.

We very much enjoyed the service and Pastor Wilkerson's preaching. After the service, we met the Pastor and was given a small booklet as a gift. Pastor Wilkerson asked me to give my pastor his regards since they were acquaintances,  and also had nothing but praise for the pastor at whose church I was preaching that night in Highland, IN.

Next time we are in the area, and I'm not scheduled to preach elsewhere, we will definitely go back and visit FBCH. We've been up there on several occasions in the past several years visiting my sister, but I had no desire whatsoever to even visit FBCH until this time. It was a breath of fresh air.

On another note, that very next week I attended a basketball camp in Fort Wayne, IN and officiated the games with Joe Grimaldi. I was amazed at how many friends we had in common. I had not met Joe until that week. Small world, indeed.

I went back in the summer of 2012.  Eddie Lapina preached and I attended Bro Moffitt’s Sunday school class.  Dr. Evans was leading singing for that class. Had a great conversation with Dr. Evans. He told me he went to Hyles Anderson for many years and didn’t graduate. So we had something in common.  I was looking for Wendell Cox but couldn’t find him that day.  No one seemed to remember me and that probably was a good thing.

I know this is bumping an old topic but I just went looking for Jacks confession (His final sermon) and FBCH did an AMAZING job of scrubbing this video off the internet. Like you can't find it anymore anywhere.
Well thanks to some interwebz know how and about 30 min of time I have found this video. I'm thinking of putting it up on youtube, will FBCH come after it?  It is just audio with some random pics of him but still I think it should be out there to remind ppl what a sick person he was.

Sure, I've got 10 seconds to waste on it (NOT!).

I sometimes wonder if Schaap's life was just a house of cards waiting for implosion, or, just an unlucky day when his cellphone and the pictures were found.  Is it possible he could still be at FBCH today if he could have controlled the evidence better?

If the phone would've never been found JS would still be the pastor.

Think about it, he says the Lords table is like having spiritual intercourse with the Lord, AND THEY PUBLISH IT!!!!!!

Complete filth!

He distorts an ordinance God gave to His church........................and what? AND WHAT??????????? NOTHING!!!!!!!!

Men on this forum continued to follow him. OH! They stopped going to, the beloved "pastor school" when he began to teach the worlds philosophy to build the church but yet continued to follow WITHOUT A BLINK!!!!!!!! When he taught that filth.

Still blows my mind today. (As y'all can see :) )

Oh and they continue to send their young ppl to Fbch youth conference to listen to men that SUPPORTED JS when he taught the filth.

smh

I'm sorry but can someone make since of all this for me.

Well he was literally the wold in sheep's clothing  (Schaap means Sheep in Dutch).

This is the most vivid sermon I have of him I was SUPER uncomfortable sitting there, I frlt like I had just watched a porn in church. If he would not have gotten busted right after this I would never have returned to South Point, nor FBCH

FBCH has no doctrinal integrity.

At all?  On no doctrine??

The two former pastors did not believe in using books like Strong's that would have been a stablising influence.

They thought you could use just your Bible and say whatever seemed to be supported by the text you were reading at the time. It resulted in an extreme whiplash theology. Continously changing over time and disconnected from the whole counsel of God.

Bro. Hyles was not like that in the 50s and 60s.
