Got caught in one here in Lafayette LA this afternoon.
Time to get some boudin and cracklins
Exactly what we did. Tried the boudin yesterday. Angela didn't care for it. I thought it was alright.
Cracklins... I ate a few... I'm sure my cholesterol is THROUGH THE ROOF right now.
I learned the difference between Creole and Cajun gumbo. I'm not telling anyone here but I like Creole better. Not that Cajun isn't good...
I've had the BEST red beans and rice around here that I have ever had!
Leaving here with a couple quarts of roux from the grocery store and a couple big bags of seasoning from Avery Island.... I think we ran ourselves to the brink of bankruptcy at the gift shop there!

No but we did try the cheesecake:
At first, Angela was put off by the thought of Tabasco Sauce in a dessert but when they brought it to the table, it was all I could do to keep her from gobbling it up before I could snap a picture of it. (See the upper spoon)
