The TWO THOUSAND YEAR Slander of God!

View attachment 7368

Trinity, Triune Godhead, God-the-Father, God-the-Son, God-the- Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit, the Word, I AM, Niceaen Creed, Church Fathers, Arian, etc!
For TWO THOUSAND YEARS the controversy over who Christ is or was has raged among thousands of groups all claiming their differing views to be based on the Bible!
Is that TRUE?
No. Most is based on CHURCH DOGMA, which distorts their view of the Bible.

The matter really CAN be easily cleared up WITH NO DOUBT by simply taking a closer look at the Bible, while setting Church Dogma aside!
We will do this from the very START of the Bible (Genesis)- in ORDER- to the very END of it (Revelation).

Let me know of any I might have missed, since I will be skimming the Bible!
Not this heretic again.

It's T.D. Jakes.

"Jakes is quite a phenomenon, but his teaching on the trinity is unmistakably Oneness Pentecostal modalism. His heretical views have been a topic of discussion and articles by apologetic ministries over the last several years. His ministry’s belief statement declares, 'There is one God,. . .existing in three manifestations: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.'”

"The controversy centered on the inclusion of T.D. Jakes, a megachurch pastor long associated with prosperity theology and modalism which is the denial of the Trinity as three distinct persons.

"When pressed by Driscoll, Jakes affirmed 'manifestations' instead of 'persons,' using classic Oneness Pentecostal language. Still,
[James] MacDonald and others declared him a brother in Christ."

But as of 2012, TD had apparently moved away from this stance and had adopted the traditional Trinity Christian view: https://www.baptistpress.com/resour...says-he-has-embraced-doctrine-of-the-trinity/

As of today, the controversial Modalist/Sabellian/Oneness verbiage about God in 3 "manifestations" is still in the doctrinal statement of The Potter's House church, where T.D. Jakes is still pastor:

"There is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three manifestations: Father, Son and Holy Spirit."

Reading all the way to the bottom of the 2012 Baptist Press article, it appears that at that time, Jakes wanted to have one foot in the Oneness camp and the other foot in the Trinitarian movement. I suppose that, for some folks, that's good enough - anything goes, believe what you want.

"Jakes also speaks errantly. This derives from the fact that he is effectively trying to hold two positions without seeing that his proffered mediating category is ultimately untenable. Jakes stated he wants to have 'dual affiliations' with both Oneness and Trinitarian churches. This is the goal behind his equivocation, and he relies on unique terminology to enable his dual theology. Although stating he is willing to use 'persons' to describe the Trinity, he is also clear he would prefer not to do so. . . .

"T.D. Jakes wants to have both Trinitarians and Oneness Pentecostals, who are Unitarian Modalists, classified as brothers in Christ at the same time. But you cannot affirm both are in the realm of truth without removing the Trinity as a fundamental basis of the Christian faith. You cannot have both beliefs at the same time: either God is both three and one (as Trinitarians believe and Unitarians deny) or God is only one (as Unitarians like Oneness Pentecostals believe and Trinitarians deny). There is no bridging this divide without losing the Trinity itself, for He is the God we worship."

Interesting.... However, I got the impression that Question made T.D. Jakes' theology seem orthodox by comparison.
